I got out today with Colonial Copper Zeus and KylePA to a farm that we hit last year. It has produced 30 coppers, 1782 half real, 1791 1 real, and a Draped Bust counterfeit dollar and since we had not detected in 2 weeks (fields are planted), we decided to give this site another shot. We knew that we were going to have to contend with cornfields, but since the farmer allowed us to "go between the rows" last year, we thought it would be a good idea to pound the site again.

To make this story short, in 2 hours, I found a button and musketball. I still did not get that perfect high tone...until I was walking up an ordinary cornrow. The signal sounded off at "Q" on "Quarter" and pinpointed at 4". I was definitely sure that it was going to be a copper, but was soon welcomed with a better target...Colonial silver!!!

Just looking at the coin in the dirt, I knew I had a 2 reales! I yelled over to CCZ, "2 reales!!!" He ran over and congratulated me until KylePA finally noticed us whooping it up. He came over and I just put it in his hand...lol.

The date turned out to be a perfectly legible 1786! This is my 2nd 2 reales for the year. :headbang: I now have 4 Spanish silvers for 2009. KKC now has 7 Spanish silvers for the 2009 season. :icon_thumleft:

KKC is only gearing up for the fall. Stay tuned-in for our Colonial seeking adventures!

Keep the passion high! :icon_thumleft: :headbang:

Kirk

P.S. We each got a Spanish silver off of this farm. Chris got the half real and Kyle got the one real. :hello2:

Beautiful coin man.

The spanish silver was held tight here where I am at. It gets found but I haven't got a peice yet. Tons of LC though. Must be 50 larges for one spanish silver. You guys do great with the earliest relics and coins.

You better sit down on the couch with that hound and break out those kleenex on the table.
Your gonna need em after this winter, the IB is gonna be making some finds soon.

Just kiddin ya, thats a nice 2 reale, ya done good.
Go find more now!

I wondered how I missed this post then noticed the date: I was up to my eyeballs with baseball then. My one and only Spanish silver was a 1786 half reale; that 2 job is a real beauty! Gotta mix a little wilver in with the Coppas; whatever happened to the term "wilver" anyway?
