Found a 1927 Merc exploring some new area along the river and a 1783 or possibly 88 Spanish silver and a few other bits from my cob site today. Also eyeballed what looks like a nice sized bit of Native American pottery. Any help with confirmation appreciated as I know nothing about this stuff

Good stuff and yes, that is American Indian pottery.

I get a few of those rose 'style' leather ornaments.:icon_thumright:

Your on a good site.
The pottery is something I would love to find .

Nice job toasted! I've never seen pottery with that much porosity, but we have different clay here. A lot of our stuff is made
from cave clay. Very smooth sticky and gravel free.

Best wishes!

Very nice finds. After zooming in on your photo I'd say your 1/2 reale is definitely a 1788. That looks like a nice piece of pottery! I'm no expert but it has the look of being Native American.

No doubt that is Native American pottery. There likely to be more wherever you found that piece.

Nice finds!

Very nice! Congrats!

Nice finds!

Ive walked a lot of shoreline and especially this little section and its the first Ive seen. Gonna have to pay closer attention

Congrats on the reale! :occasion14:

Very nice digs Mr. toasted! Reals are always quite rare and very special in my book. Looks like you have some pretty great ground there. Well done.

Thanks. Ive know found around 13 Spanish and other colonial silvers from this spot and most of them were dropped before George Washington was born. Ive only found around 8 from all other spots combined. Its been a dream site for sure

Definitely NA pottery the small patterns on top give it away .... that’s a pretty good size piece to find usually they are broken into much smaller pieces

Yep. The little pattern is what caught my eye and the size is larger than others Ive seen online
