God was on my side for this one guys. HOLY CRAP!!!!! A solid 97-99 on the vdi. Was expecting a hot rock, they give off those funky signals. But to my surprise, at this pounded out spot, with only 2 buttons found last time out here, and 4 today, I dig a 1770 silver 8 REALES. And it's completely intact with amazing detail!!!

I've been hunting this place since February and it's dried up a bit, but this find was just what I needed to NOT give up on it just yet! Thanks for looking!

Several 8 reales but only one like this. Why is that? lol

When was the last pillar and waves, milled 8 reales?

Great looking coin , :o near excellent condition for being buried in soil for more than 200 years .
I always have a bucket full of junk yard finds with one keeper .
I can't figure out how peeps seem to hunt for an hour and come back with one primo silver find , it doesn't make sense . :icon_scratch:
Not that "one hit" wonderful doesn't happen , it seems only my search areas are littered with nails , lead , shotgun stamps , pull tabs , copper wire pieces , shell cases etc. . yikes

Congrats on the Big ol Krazy 8

daWg 8-)

There you go. This one most def belongs on top. Congrats.

CONGRATS ON BANNER MATT!!!!!!! This is the most gorgeous 8 REALE I've ever seen come out from the ground. So glad you didn't scratch it on recovery, that would've been a heartbreaker. Huge congrats again, what a beautiful find!!!

Many congrats Matt on the banner find. Guess mine wasn't quite old enough to make the cut :dontknow:. BTW - I was noticing in your pics that it appears that part of the outside edge of your coin has that scalloped look while the rest looked smooth. Is that how your coin actually looks or is the camera playing tricks? Not sure what's going on there, or maybe it's nothing. Again, gorgeous coin and one that will be hard to top.
