I had a little time this afternoon and decided to go scout an area that is close to where I found my Rev War era Dandy button the other day. I walked a long way following a stone wall and came to a clearing on a knoll that looked like it would have been a great place for a home. Turned on my T2 and got a very nice signal right off the bat. Looked at my lonely left hand and sadly there was no digging tool in it. I left it in my truck, and yes I am a huge idiot. :-) and I'm well aware of this fact. So I made the walk of shame back to my truck and retrieved my digger. At this point I decided to walk down to where I found the Dandy. I swung on my way across the field and dug a couple of signals along the way. Found what I think is an old bell and also some sort of curved buckle.
Eventually I got down to my spot and got a nice signal that I dug and out came a very ugly green coin that I figured was either a wheat or an ih. It turned out to be the ugliest damn indian head on earth. :-)
I decided to scan on the very edge of a steep embankment that goes into a huge bay. Got a nice signal and dug a decent sized coin that I couldn't see any detail on. Didn't think much of it and put it in my keeper case. Scanned that area again and right beside it got another good signal. Same sized coin with no detail. Was I happy when I got home and dipped them in some hp and after a minute could see GEORGIVS. Knew I had a kg and figured the other coin may be as well. Sure enough it was. Both kg 2s. One is a Brittania and I thought I saw 1761 but am not sure. It's gonna need some more work. The HIBERNIA on the other hand is a 1760 with great detail for a copper in my area. By far my best detailed colonial and I could not be happier. This season is off to a great start and I hope it continues. Thanks for looking. All the best, Abr
