1700's Admiral Rodney cufflinks

I don't think yesterday was a total washout for me after all folks. Kirk,Kyle and I detected at the bountiful site again and Kirk found his Canadian Fishscale. I found a set of colonial cufflinks that have been preliminarily been identified by our good friend Ironpatch as being most likely bearing the name and likeness of a Lord Rodney. British commander from the early 1700's to late 1700's. I do see the letters ROD on the top left. I plan on doing more research on this fact when I get back from a walk with my wife. My dog is also looking longingly at her leash. Enjoy everyone.

Re: Possible Lord Rodney cufflinks

WAHOOOOOOOOO, I hope we can ID it with 100% certainty. Are you sure that you can see the letters "ROD" at the top of the cufflinks?

If so, I think this is one heck of a GREAT find!!!!!! We must head back next Sunday in search for another Spanish wilver or Colonial coppa!

Lemony Snicket signing off. OOOOF :icon_jokercolor:

P.S. If you have time after the walk with wittle wittle and your lovely wife, give us a call tonight, looney boy.

Re: Possible Lord Rodney cufflinks

Awesome find Chris. Definitely a nice change of pace from finding coins. What makes finds like this so cool is the personal history behind them. I really hope you get a positive ID on these cufflinks. Most certainly a BANNER find if you do. :o

Re: Possible Lord Rodney cufflinks

BTW...

The Rodney link I believe sold between $400 & $500. Was dug and probably a 6/10 for condition.

PS.. There could quite possibly be the other cufflink at your site, you just have the two parts of one.

That is AWESOME to hear. Would you happen to know the guy who dug the Rodney link?

I would love to see one that is in someone's collection!

Re: Possible Lord Rodney cufflinks

I used my photo software to bring out some more detail in one of your cufflinks.

It appears that you have actually found a set of "Cap'n Crunch" cufflinks.

If you look closely at the other cufflink you will see that it is a match.
