Hello Fellow Tnetters,

I haven't posted in a couple of weeks, but have still been getting out to some of my heavily hunted parks and still finding a good amount of those elusive "deepies". Today was a good day. In just a few hours, I scored 6 silver and about 15 wheaties from an area of a large LA park that I've never hunted before. One of the silvers was a small religious pendant with an angel on it. I wish I could have filmed all the silver digs for you to watch, but my buddy, Jon (goldenapples, film-editor extraordinaire) had to work today. :-\

My 100th silver coin of the year that I found today was just as fulfilling to recover as my 1st silver was some three and a half months ago. I always wonder to myself how many more old coins I can find in these pounded parks, and each time I go, I'm very thankful and excited to continue to hear those 6-9" fluty signals sounding off on my SE.

Thanks for looking. Detect with Passion!!!

Thanks, ibasser, Prober!! Appreciate your responses.

Thanks, metalfinder. Hey, again, great large Cent!!!

Thanks, Country Girl. From your description, it looks like you'll be out hunting real soon. Good luck.

Thanks, Nat!! Still plenty more for everyone. Just have to find them.

Hey, Bobby, thanks for the response. Haven't heard from you in a while. You should be ramping up with a series of great finds real soon, huh?

Thanks, Civil. Hey, I won't even come close to finding the kinds of relics you find either. ::)

Thanks, Booty!! :icon_sunny:

Hey, Kyle, thanks for your response, my friend from PA. Looking at it from my standpoint, I won't come close to finding the kinds of real old Coppas and old Wilvers that you find either, so keep finding them for me, okay?

Thanks, RandyInOhio. Hey, 3 wheats to 1 silver is a respectable ratio. Congrats.

Thanks, Albert! "Wheat Swilvers"...LOL

Thanks, Mikey!! See you on Kinzli!!

Jon, what can I say. I'm giving you free up-to-date silver broadcasts direct from the turf.....gotta love it!!! See you out there soon!!

Thanks All!!

Way to go Dan . You've already popped out 100 silvers and I think I've only gotten in 4 hunts this year so far :icon_pale: There IS good news on the near horizon though...cause' I think I'm blowin off my appointments Wednesday or Thursday...one of the two days ;D

Thanks, Bryce!! It sounds like you desperately need your silver fix!! Good luck on Wed. or Thursday!!

Pistol Perfect, I'm using a stock Explorer II coil on my SE. It's the 1050 coil (10.5") DD design.

Congrats on your 100th Silver Wow! How do you set up your SE? Do you use Iron mask? what sens do you mostly use? Have you tried pitch hold?I have tried the 1050 coil a couple of times but found it to be noisy at times. I mostly use the x-8 and get good depth with it . but I always wonder what I am missing. I am also hunting in heavy trash again great finds HH RonC

Man! That's like detecting in the '70's!!

You should give us all a "how to" listen for the deepies with that Explorer!

Thanks for sharing the loot. I am amazed that people can still pull good quality silver from the ground in these amounts! You da man, Dan.

Dan,

Hey, friend, you are rocking!!! Awesome wilver digs, dude!

I still can't believe you are still yanking the old wilvers out of that ground. I think you will find about 400 this year!

As always, I wish you luck, friend! Keep the passion high!

Kirk :coffee2:

Nice finds Capt,

You must have alot of nice older parks in your county. I love to hunt them old parks. Keep up the good work man.

Fantastic finds as always Dan. I have an angle exactly like the one you found, except it made 14k.

Thanks, Ron. My SE setup is fairly straight-forward. I use Iron Mask at around a setting of 27. Conduct sounds, Sensitivity around 23. Never tried pitch hold, but with all the trash in the parks I hunt, I don't think that setting would be an advantage. My 1050 Exp.II coil is no more noisy than my X-8 coil, which I also have. Ever since purchasing the 1050 coil, I haven't the need to use the X-8. It's that good!! I don't think you're missing too much using the X8 coil instead of the 1050. However, if you don't overlap your swings with that small coil, you will be missing quite a bit. I've found the 1050 to be slightly deeper than the X8.

Awesome day! Keep it up!
Appreciate the response, Tim !!!

Thank You, AJ. Wish I could just travel the country, giving md'ers hands-on Explorer lessons. That would be very exciting for me.

Yep, I'm still yankin' (old Wilvers that is ;D).
I wish you luck too on your next trip to the Coppa/Wilver fields.

Thanks, Jer. Yes, there are many 20's-50's parks located in the LA area. Although it's getting more difficult to find the oldies is large numbers like I did last year, there's still more to be found. Takes lots of patience/persistence to hear to faint whispers amongst a plethora of trash items in these parks.

Way to go Dan! Fantastic finds!!
Thanks, Hunter!! Appreciate the response.

Thanks, Anthony. Somehow I just knew you had one of those angel pendants in gold!! :icon_scratch:
