14 K on Mother's Day!
It was a rare day when it all goes well, street lights, temps, delayed rain, fresh mowed sports field, perfect!
On this hunt I decided to collect up those pesky pennies to clear the surface clutter. That little Voice told me to head to the middle.
There were some interesting trash items too, like half a plastic penny right over a zinc in the ground, bent up old spoon, knob, etc. Then I got a jumpy penny/dime reading and the Voice said "you should dig this". I pried up the shallow target, a little silver colored "cheer" megaphone...on a chain. It took some work to free the chain, which has rust on it... not silver.
Ten more feet I get a dime/foil reading and the Voice says "Dig That One!" I dig 3" down and in the last scoop of dirt I see a silver edge, and think, "dime"...till the dirt falls off...Sweet! Possible silver ring!
Checking the small ring at home (with my glasses on) I see it is a University class ring, my first! And 14 K White Gold!
An odd thing...the name and initial inside the band is the same as one of the grandkids!
Awesome Mother's Day!
There was a large, deep "quarter" reading I will have to go back for on a rainy day... with a shovel!
Late post, my ph data renewed today.
There was a lot more trash I didn't include in the pic.
I will have to get the kids to help me search for the owner.
