14 K on Mother's Day!

It was a rare day when it all goes well, street lights, temps, delayed rain, fresh mowed sports field, perfect! :)

On this hunt I decided to collect up those pesky pennies to clear the surface clutter. That little Voice told me to head to the middle.
There were some interesting trash items too, like half a plastic penny right over a zinc in the ground, bent up old spoon, knob, etc. Then I got a jumpy penny/dime reading and the Voice said "you should dig this". I pried up the shallow target, a little silver colored "cheer" megaphone...on a chain. It took some work to free the chain, which has rust on it... not silver. :(
Ten more feet I get a dime/foil reading and the Voice says "Dig That One!" I dig 3" down and in the last scoop of dirt I see a silver edge, and think, "dime"...till the dirt falls off...Sweet! Possible silver ring!

Checking the small ring at home (with my glasses on) I see it is a University class ring, my first! And 14 K White Gold!
An odd thing...the name and initial inside the band is the same as one of the grandkids!
Awesome Mother's Day!

There was a large, deep "quarter" reading I will have to go back for on a rainy day... with a shovel! :D
Late post, my ph data renewed today.
There was a lot more trash I didn't include in the pic.
I will have to get the kids to help me search for the owner.

Rick- Thank you! It is a small one even for a class ring, but it weighs 5.1 g. Looks like a size 5 maybe.

Thank you OD! It was just a day of "perfect"...so rare.
This is my first white gold ring that's why I thought it was silver at first! Lol!

A2coins- Thanks! I'm pretty sure I can relocate the "quarter" reading. It was solid. The problem will be the extraction, it's deep and being deep it is far bigger than a quarter...think I'm gonna need a shovel....and some invisiblity spray! :D

Beep... you must be using the invisible spray now.
For I cannot see you :P

Lol! Awesome then I'm all set! :D

Thank you Q. ! It was an awesome day & hunt.
I knew there had to be at lest some gold there, and there was! And there's a good chance there's more along with older goodies! :)

Congrats MsBeep, it couldn't have happened to a more deserving hunter. You always see the bright side of this hobby!

Thanks qeala4! It is easy to see the bright side of something you dearly love! Besides it is my sanity saver that pays! :D

It just blows me away to think that "any" one of us could come up with a find of lifetime! It is such an even playing field for all.
I'm looking forward to Sunday, and I know that another awesome find may not repeat, but that's ok. :)

Don't be too sure. Can't tell ya how many times I said things like, "can", "too big", "too deep", "too wide", "too loud", etc. only to be pleasantly surprised. :)

Congrats on your first class ring; and white gold at that.
May it be the first of many......
