Nice clad count! That looks like a 50 cal. bullet. Congrats on the Wheats and HH, Mike

Very nice clad haul,, and nice relics too, WTG!!!
That bullet is awesome, haven't found any that big yet...

A quarter is slightly over an inch in diameter. A 30 caliber bullet is .308 inches, and a 50 caliber is, of course, .50 inches. If that bullet is half the diameter of the quarter, I would say it is 50 caliber.

I found a fired 45 ACP round Saturday. It also had the rifling marks on the bullet.

Makes ya want to hit the dirt when you hear loud noises, doesn't it?

Mike

Nice load of clad there for one day!
And if anyone would like more horse shoes....I own 4 horses so have plenty to go around! LOL I'd be more then happy to ship them out. I love finding the old ones though.
Bullet near a park is definetly scary. Hopefully you don't find any more!

Great digs. The bullet does look huge and would probably hurt a little if you were shot by it. Looks like you had a super day. I haven't had a day like that in a long time. Congrats on an awesome day.

Lejeuene

From what I understand, when displaying a horseshoe, you need to hang it with the open end UP, so that the good luck does not spill out!!

I have found so many large caliber bullets and syringes and other stuuf like that in school grounds, that it really makes me wonder :-\

Keep it up while we hunker down and wait for the cold and snow. ;D

That's a great pile of clad. It's fun to have a day where you load your pockets full even if it is modern clad. I love the old horsehoe. Where there's old horseshoes there was farming. There may be old buttons out there in that area ;D Congrats on the finds.

I'd hazard a guess that someone found that bullet somewhere else and either dropped it or the tip wore a hole in their pocket and it fell through at some point.

Nice finds! HH!

Lejeu,

Wow girl, you really did some digging. Awesome finds!! I didn't find my 1st horseshoe till I went to JD's MO hunt. Guess what? Got one of those bullets too...found by hubby, his story was during WWII the local base used Lake Pontchartrain as a training area to train the gunners firing machine guns from aircraft...how true is this? No clue, just basing on his statement. Anyway, dredging the lake for shells (when they were still able to use the shells in driveways & parking lots) this bullet was mixed in with the shells.

You did great...more out there. Happy Hunting!!

;) RR

Awesome job. I've often heard that there is nothing better than an old "hoe" too. Sorry, bad joke. ;D Congrats.

Man....thats a pile of change! Congrats on the Wheats. Ive also found a couple of those jumbo rifled bullets in an area where there was some WWII training......Joe
