I moved to Pennsylvania about 8 years ago and just got back into detecting. I was going looking through some of the history here and found there use to be a 19th century prison in what is now a park as well as a bunch of old 1920's resorts on the top of one of the mountains. Who would I have to...
Need Help To Identify Today's Find
I found this today detecting out on a claim. Made the Gold Bug scream. It's a beast of a rock, 5.5oz. When I scratch the black surface off it appears silver. It is not magnetic. Is it silver? Palladium or Platinum would be much nicer :headbang:
Dug today at about an hour before low tide. best find of the day. other stuff includes a knife, some clad, bat mobile little car, a co2 cartrige and my surf pro made a sound i have never heard before, kinda a dull whine, turns out it was a magnet lol.
the pendent has a no clasp stainless chain...
Here is a small assortment of finds I've picked out of some very trashy & hunted out sites over the past week or so. There are a couple of Civil War bullets, (some 69 cal. round balls, some 54 cal. round balls, and 1 44 Cal. Sage pistol bullet. The balls came from a "hunted out area". The 44...
Well May did not have the silver numbers I wanted, but I got a big first for me.
I always like to have a particular goal in the back of my mind when detecting. There’s the “daily goal” and the “next on my list” goal.
I have to say that most of the places we hunt, either have bad EMI, bad iron...
I have always wondered about this question: What would you do if there were no half dollars to search? (no box orders, very low mintages, only pre 1964 would have been silver)
Taking in account that I'm in Canada and here no bank would order any halves at all. They have really low mintages and...
I have NO clue if I should be posting this here or where I should be...but the site was recommended by Google and the thread mades *somewhat* sense IMHO.
ANYWAY :)
I'm new to dealing in estate auctions, antiquities, collectibles, HTF items, and similar. I am mainly working with vintage jewelry...
In the last couple of weeks I've found over 60 coins, one Swiss 1/2 Franc, two necklaces (one is silver and the other may be silver), a pocket knife, and several pieces of costume jewelry.
Yesterday I used low discrimination, I used high discrimination, I dug deep targets, and I dug shallow...
Best week of CRHing for me this year so far. 2 key dates today.
I've posted a few times in the past week about some great finds, I scored a bunch of v nickels, mercury dimes, and silver rosies. Well my amazing streak has continued! Went to the bank that I scored the mercs, rosies, and v nicks...
For all the coins you have searched (lets make it easy and say this year so far) how much have you paid per ounce of silver? I did some quick math on what I paid and the number I came up with is $2.19 per ounce of silver for 2012. I looked at a historical price chart and that was the price of an...
I bought a used Minelab SE a couple weeks ago and I've already noticed that I'm finding deeper targets that I was with my other machines. Surprisingly, I haven't really been finding a lot of clad as I expected. That's totally fine but just strange to me I guess. What I have been finding the past...
Hello,

thanks in advance,
Alex
I was finally able to get out today for some tecting! The weather kept threatening to dump on me at any moment but it stayed dry.
I was born on a Friday the 13th, so it has always been my lucky day and today was no exception.
I tried to stay away from detecting today but couldn't lol
so I went out to my backyard for a quick 30 min hunt
and within 2 min. got a 1957 wheaty, less then 5 min.
later I dug up a 1963 silver dime, right after that I came
across a bullet about 6" under an old dogwood.
Never know what's in...
