Found this strangely shaped item in a harvested bean field in west central Indiana near an old home site dating to around 1830s. It registered about a 55-60 on my Garrett AT max and based on the look of it I'd say it's copper alloy (brass usually rings up around 77) but I'm not sure why it's not...
hit up a spot behind a town hall Monday. Thought it might of been a dump at first, when i saw some broken surface glass But these are the only 2 things to come out of the small wooded area. please tell me i finally dug something from the 1700's ? i know its the smallest part of what i think it...
these are some more finds from my 1800's abandoned town site. Where i have found civil war military relics the soldier brought home and so much more.
I'm fairly certain #1 is a trigger guard, but from what? Rifle or pistol? could this be a military issue weapon someone brought home to go...
I dug this brass object in an old farm that dates back to the 1700s. Its about 2" , has two small pins and a ring. Looks like a moving part from something. Any ideas?
Hello folks!
Was super happy with this 50 cent sterling ww2 pin I found at the thrift store today. I looked on ebay, and it's going for around 40-60 dollars. Not sure if I could get that for it. But still cool.
Need some advice about this possible sterling spoon. There is markings on the back...
Hello all,
I recently found a box of civil war bullets in an abandoned house that was being torn down. Most were obvious enough to know what they were when I saw them. My question is about the two on the right in the bottom row. I'm guessing that the farthest right on the bottom row is a musket...

Can anyone help identify this? Dug on an early colonial to victorian era site. It's thin brass. Looks like a hinge of some sort. Has small holes where small brass nails may have been? Thanks
Found while gold panning on a river/creek without any early mining records. Could not find a matching example online? Vid i posted on you tube shortly after finding. Little on the history of area in vid details and links.

I don't get on here much, but I would like to share some of my better finds from the past few months.
I mostly try and target Civil War sites or older.
I'm in Cabarrus county NC, but travel all over to dig. I would like to find a digging buddy somewhat close by.

This was a hunt 1 month ago. 2 bucket list day for me. Same spot where I got the buttons on my previous post. This has just been an amazing spot. I am quite proud as I have taught myself to dig in heavy iron with my Equinox 800. I went to a silversmith to see if I can get the wings unfolded. She...
Hello! Been a long, long while since I've posted...does anyone even remember me??? Lol haha. Anyways...I've been doing more yard sale hunting/re-selling then detecting this year. Made some killer finds and big chunk a change.
Only detected a few times this year which I now regret. Will be going...
Hello from the Deschutes River. My crew and I like to clean up the river one or twice a week and pull out all sort of things, like old bottles, logging equipment, plastic, clothes, but we do find the occasional treasure. My buddy Jarrod found a 1930s Old Spice after shave lotion bottle. Half of...
This coin appears to be very old, it is very thin and uneven.
The image is almost cartoon like which is weird to me...
I can only make out some of the letters or symbols on it so I am not going to write them out as it would just be a string of random letters in not particular order.
Has...
From the pictures you can see some of the designs and with this little piece excites me. Talk about fancy! It came from the ground green, so it’s likely copper (or mostly so). On this property I’ve also found two WWI-era buttons and two pennies from 1887 and 1914, as well as a whole lot of...
I found this item in a field in Luxembourg where I have found stuff from the 1600s - modern times.
It appears to be made of copper.
The bottom makes it look as if it had broken off of something else but I'm not 100%
Any info is appreciated as I have no clue.
Thanks!
what kind of button do you call this? And what time period is it from? It’s probably an easy ID for someone. But this is only my second button I’ve ever dug. I’m sure during my incubation period I’ll have some pretty easy things to ID. But I promise I only need you guys to do it once. I have...
I found this item in Luxembourg (Western Europe.)
It is made of either copper with the knob being made out of iron.
I have found other items dating back to the 1600s in the area as well as everything up to modern times.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You.
There are relic's from the California Gold Rush all over the State.
The pictures in the video are from Grass Valley to Beckwourth and just about every camp or village in between.
When Gold was discovered in California in 1848 it started a mass expedition to the territory in search of great...
Only a mile from the heart of downtown Nevada City,
The centerpiece is Hirschman’s Pond, named after the Hirschman brothers who were pioneer miners and merchants.
The eastern 0.4 mile of trail is constructed to ADA standards, providing barrier-free access to Hirschman’s Pond.
West of the...
It definitely Looks Celtic but my question is what is it exactly? Is it an old coin possibly. It is very lightweight it doesn't even feel like metal and it doesn't stick to a magnet. It almost feels like I could bend it (maybe its gold!) but I don't want to break it. In some places it is 1/2cm...
I found this item in Luxembourg in Europe.
The area I found it in dates back to the 1600s but has everything in-between.
I have no idea what it could be but I figured I would post it here before putting it in the junk pile.
Thanks for the help.
Found a heavy iron football shaped object along with the end of a hoe. The iron thing is about two pounds and I’m not sure exactly what it is, thought it might be a clothes iron. Anyone have any idea what it is?
Can anyone provided some Equinox TID numbers on various Civil War Relics you have found? Also the depths that you recovered them from?
I am starting to hunt Civil War battle and camp ground sites here in Georgia.
Much appreciated.
Trying to find Civil War relics for my nephew, and came across this listing on eBay, which is purportedly a tent stake dug from the Antietam battlefield.
I have a few concerns, not the least of which is that Antietam is misspelled on the tag and the listing. I know most CW tent stakes were...
Hey guys and girls! My team(mom, dad, self lol) have been hitting our civil war bushwacker spot as often as we can. We've pulled lots of fired and dropped bullets, buttons and other relics. My dad took one of his bullets to work and was showing his crew. One guy struck up a conversation with him...
Good morning, found this brass relic yesterday at a very old cellar hole site. The site dates back to early 1800's as per old maps and history of area. The cellar hole is a depression in ground, and has stones, fallen chimney stack, etc. I could not stay long to dig at site but I was lucky...
I've been detecting a large home site (several acres) for a few days now, and found several hundred coins (old mason jar buried in the ground), a .69 caliber round ball unfired, and a Civil War Union Officers Sword Plate. But several feet from the sword plate I found this very interesting ornate...
Found this button and iron piece today. Anyone seen anything like it? Possibly a wooden dowel or handle went through it. California Gold Country site.

I have found lot of good info on your site--
But lot of discussions about specific MDs/brands is based on personal history--and most of you agree that much of the success of any specific machine depends on the person actually using that MD...so the brain is as much or more important than the MD...
I found this special relic a couple days ago on a field in a abandoned settlement. It is one of the best things I ever dug out of the ground. :icon_thumright:
Here's the video where I found the badge:
