I was wondering if old houses in the country turn out much silver and good finds or if i should stick to old homes in town i got a permission from a family friend the house is at least over a 143 years old because i found the house on a 1874 map but the house is all by itself in the country with...
So, Iv'e dug many bullet casings while metal detecting most of them are post 1950's and I know that they are just worth the scrap value. But Iv'e also dug many bullet casings from early 1900's to 1950's and I wonder if they have some monitary value. Iv'e dug many readable dates casings from...

Today I went out on a spot I usually go to to metal detect. It's a bit difficult to get to the spot by boat and some walking. The spot is an early 1900's hunting spot and an abandoned field.
So first of by some Stone Walls I found my first ever Lead Back Seal:
Then I walked along some kind of...
Hello all!
After detecting an old cellar hole site in rural NY (which I think it may be 1750s - 1800s), I came across this dome button. Now, I really know nothing about buttons, and I think I ought to learn something about them. Anyway, what would you say the date on this one is? It is marked...

So yesterday I was detecting and got a very good copper/bronze signal 8 inches down. Dug down about 9 inches in 30 minutes until I saw the edge of an object I tried to get it out but then I gave up and after some time to convince me to get it out I tried and it took me an hour to finally unearth...

So, a week ago I found my first buckle, a quite large and heavy (46.5 g) buckle:
It wasn't quite deep because of the very hard soil. I think the pin in the buckle is made out of iron and the buckle itself is made out of copper or bronze. I also think it's of a horse strap.
I'm not familiar...
Does anyone know what this is? I'm 99% sure it's from World War 2. I found it at sandbridge beach Virginia (in VA beach).
P.S. It's made of copper if you didn't already figure it out. (Not sure why my pics are sideways.)
