The snow finally melted enough to get out so I went to the Oldest Park in town. It has been hunted to death and has a bunch of trash in the ground but I thought it would be a great place to learn the ins and outs of the new detector. I found 18 coins in about 3 hours of hunting. The AT Gold was...
Hello All,
I have been going thru withdrawl lately with the frozen ground here in CT but we had a couple of above freezing days so I decided to try and go detecting. I hit a local elementary school where I have had some luck in the past and did pretty good even with the frozen ground. Check...

Good afternoon,
I am in Abingdon Virginia and wanted to expand my detection outings to include gold. I have done a lot of research, but have come to a stumbling block.
I guess my overall goal is to be able to detect gold coins, jewelry, and nuggets with a detector no more than $1k. I have...

Well, I've decided to make a log to keep more organised and to remember what all I've found.
I've searched through many coins already but I'm going to start from today on:
Just a little side note, I keep quite a few things some people might not, I'm just going to include everything I end up...
Hello, all. I have enjoyed the photos on this site for a couple of years now. Forgive me for lurking and in advance for any newbie breaches of forum etiquette. I have gathered quite a few "treasures" over my years, but very little official knowledge as far as identification for a lot of them. I...

Hello. From Vermont, I've spent most of my "treasure hunting" time following my brother, who has a gold mine in Alaska and travels around the country looking for artifacts, semi-precious gem stones and, of course, gold. I recently had a great time at Doc's Rocks in North Carolina, where I found...
Chicagobulls567's CRH Log
I decided to start a CRH log, because I go through at least $50.00 of pennies a week. I started doing this a couple of weeks ago and now I'm hooked. I will post pictures of my finds every week. So far I have been through $160.00 in pennies. So far I have 66 wheat...

I have a hobby of collecting coins.Once when I showed my collection to a friend, he told me that I had a very valuable coin.
It was a coin that I had picked up at a souvenir shop. It had an image of a chinese dragon on the front with the words 'yun - nan - province' and '3Mace and 6 candareens'...
I'm am wondering which is deeper on a quarter in the same soil with ideal settings, the F75 ltd or the T2 ltd. Could you please answer my question?
Thanks,
I am getting a new metal detector, I'm considering getting a ether a Minelab explorer SE pro, a Teknics T2, or a Fisher F75. Do you know which one can detect coins deeper?
Thanks,
I just got a $1000 budget for a metal detector. I would prefer one with a item ID that can go at least 10-12'' CONSISTENTLY!!!! on a dime. I was thinking about a Minelab explorer SE pro, are there any users of it that can tell me how deep it can go and how reliable it is. Also, are there any...

Here's a video of a silver dollar I found here in Utah!
Check it out!!!
How many of you have found silver dollars? Have they been in parks or at old home sites?
Overall it was a pretty good day. My search began alongside a small pond i used to go fishing at. Recently the water level has depleted to a lower level and it was a good opportunity to detect. Definitely will be going back to find more!
Item List

10 sinkers (see...
So, I'm fairly new to CRH. I started collecting coins around the age of 6 and it just kinda faded out when I hit high school. I went to a gun show 2 months ago and there was a coin dealer there who I bought a nice mercury dime from and some silver dollars. I then became bit by the collectors bug...
Are Nickels good to go through? Is it worth it? If they are, what should I be looking for or be looking to keep. I've seen a few people with their nickel logs on here, but I wasn't sure if it would be good to get into as well or not.
Hey all many questions to ask! I recently bought the f2 from Fisher and i love it alot! But i'm finding out that the places i wanna detect, all the signals are down deeper than 6" and the f2 just can't get that kinda depth. For example, I went hunting with my grandpa he has the at pro from...
Better coin finds from yard I've been hunting with my Minelab Etrac. I put the nicer coins together for a pic, not shown are the several wheat cents I found. I've decided this is the best yard I've ever hunted for the amount of time spent searching it. This is the first area I have ever used the...
