I have bought many Civil War knifes and forks, but I have never seen one with rivets like this. I was wondering anyone knew if this knife is from the Civil War era?
I recently dug this bullet near an old plantation that was also a civil war recruiting station/hospital.
If anyone can tell if its modern or not, or what type of bullet this is please speak your mind.
thank you.

I found a stack of 1800 era /Civil War publications filled with hundreds of first hand military accounts, stories, drawings, poems, slavery, advertisements etc. including Southern Bivouac with Gen Lee and Grant on front; also, New Eclectic, plus more. They are a great source of information...
I have just completed a book of Civil War letters: So Much Blood the Civil war Letters of William Wallace Beard 1861-1865. Beard was a native of north Mecklenburg County, NC. Moved to Mississippi in the late 1850s. Fought in the Mississippi 18th Co G. One of only a hundred or so who survived...
I just bought a Garrett ATPro and I am having trouble learning to use it. I hunt for Civil War Relics and I get a lot of bell tones when I swing it one way and when I swing it back the other way and I don't get a signal. I usually don't dig the signal. Am I missing some good finds or is it...
I found this brass relic in an Army of the Frontier Camp last month in southern Missouri. The relic is made from Brass and is about 2 1/2" long. I would appreciate any help in identifying it.
I found this old eagle device in a local junk store today. They occasionally get in really old things, so I was hoping this might be Civil War, but it's probably more likely from a more recent military school. It has attachments on the back like a hat or cap ornament, but I'm not really sure...
I know this will be a slow lob up center field for someone on this forum, but I could use a little help with these military items. I believe the two buckles may be English, the lion possibly being naval? The other two, I'm not sure.
I know that a regular civil war knapsack goes for about $100 to $150. But, this knapsack is identified as to be from the 8th New Hampshire volunteers. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on the value of a identified knapsack in this condition?
This is a drawn photograph of my great x 6 grandfather John Smith Jenkins. He was in the 29th North Carolina Infantry. I was wondering what type of uniform it was?
Please let me know, if you recognize it.
I found this today at a Civil war site near my home. It's a revet with some leather still stuck in it. I also found two civil war tent pegs. I will post them as soon as I get them cleaned up.
Hi guys! This is my first post to treasurenet. I absolutely love this site! I have been following the site for many years now. Today, I went to a flea market/fall festival in Central Indiana. While walking around, I saw a small sword that caught my eye. Often time, I will see swords and they...
I was talking with a friend who owns multiple properties (hunting land, etc.). When he found out I like to metal detect he got excited and told me that one of his properties is behind an old courthouse and was the site of a civil war camp here in SC. He also said there is a well on the...
Ok guy's I found this at a civil war site in WV. I found it by a creek that was part of a civil war camp ground, but I don't no what it is. It looks like it had a sharp edge at one time. Hope you guy's can help?
Anyone know what this is or could have been used for?
This item came into a family member's possession after the passing of a friend who was an avid civil war relic collector. We have been baffled by what this could have been used for and would appreciate any information.
The stake portion is...
This button was found at a local park in central Indiana. The park was established on the site of an old farm which I believe was built at the beginning of the 1900's. I was detecting over where I believe the old home once stood. I did not find any coins to date the area, only some old rusted...
Hello anyone. I live in carterect county. I am searching for another person to hunt with. I ve done my research and know of a few places with some potential.:treasurechest:
I picked up a set of Civil War artifacts at a garage sale and these boots were a part of it. I couldn't seem to find any information online about them so I thought I would try here.
They seem to be made of ceramic or clay. They have no visible identifying markings on them.
I moved here from GA a few years ago, i found many many civil war relics in construction sites at Kennesaw Mtn, Shame how much they destroyed but for small windows of time i found great finds. I also love coin shooting, currently i have a garret ace 250, i did have a white mxt but had to sell...
Found this on my latest excursion. It was about 4 inches, maybe 5 inches deep at the base of a ravine not far from Ball's Bluff. At first I thought it could be old pipe but there aren't any pipes in that area (heavily wooded area). Can anyone help me positively ID it as CW cannon or artillery...
Found this about 6" down not far from Balls Bluff area on private property. Not sure but it looks like some kind of tobacco pipe, but possibly made of some kind of lead or metal? Not sure. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

This is part of an unknown lot that was given to me by a friend years ago. Found in the Philadelphia-Jersey area. Not sure if they're Civil or Rev war.
Hey Gang,
I found an old knapsack that appears to be an original from the Civil War. Any opinions, based on your experience and knowledge? I'd love any feedback.

OK, Relic Hunters, are you tired of searching the same old ground that everybody has been searching since the first detectorist used a Korean War surplus mine detector in the 1950's to present and the finds are scarce as hen's teeth? It's winter time and it's too damn cold to be swinging a...
Can anyone tell me about the history of this type of Tin pitcher? Notice the hand soldering of this piece. I believe the lip area was handmade. Aproximately 3" wide, front to back. 5" tall. I'm not sure where it came from in the U.S., or how old it is. Let me know, if you have any knowledge on...
I was wondering if anyone knows what the corps badge on his chest area refers to (looks like a 3 leaf clover), on this Civil War CDV picture? Also, does the place where this picture was taken (see address from Philadelphia), had to do with where he or his regiment was located?

Hey guys and gals, its been a while since Ive posted any finds, but thought I'd share a find from a hunt I had with my dad after being stuck in the house for a few days due to bad weather! We went out hunting an area off the old Bellamy Rd which was one of the first roads to cut though the...
I was invited to hunt with a few of my friends who has permission to hunt properties South of Richmond. It was like hunting in spring with temperatures in the 70's. We arrived at the first field and got into our gear. I started across the field and had gone only about a hundred yards and heard a...
Old Table, Tremendous History
I work for a Museum in SC. Here is a pic of one of our artifacts. It's an old wooden table, not in the best condition, but it is one of the most significant historical pieces in the state. Who can guess why?!
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A Mexican coin punctured with a small hole, nails from long-decayed wooden dwellings, and broken bits of plates and bottles are among thousands of artifacts unearthed from what archaeologists suspect were once slave quarters at the site of a planned highway project in...
I am thinking of purchasing this Civil War Texas buckle for my husband. Can anyone tell me if it looks to be real. Also, how much would something like this be worth?
Thank you!
I picked this up at an estate sale. The previous owner found it in a school desk drawer in 1969. I think it is civil war. Can anyone give me information on it?
Okay, just how does a novice tell the difference between a piece of junk wire and a piece of wire off of a friction primer? I saw a post elsewhere and it got me thinking of a piece of wire I found over a year ago that I still have kicking around.
I kept it because of what it was found near. I...
