If someone has an idea of what year or type of coin this is I would be happy to know. I believe it to be a British Cent (Queen Victoria) coin. Please let me know. Thanks
I had high hopes when I first got out to the beach, there were 2-3 foot cuts in certain spots up and down the beach so I hit the closest one and started in....nuthin.....hit the next...nuthin.....and a repeat ALL along the way. There is just still so much sand on the beach that even with 3 foot...
Hi guys,
My granddad gave me this button last week and I've been looking everywhere on the internet to try and find out what is it and how much its worth, so far I've found out that the symbol on the front is Napoleons flag . Here are some pics of the button, would really appreciate if someone...
I cannot identify the era to which this button belongs to. Does anyone here have any ideas?
:icon_scratch:
Thank You.
Note:It was found in the UK on a field that an old roman road went through.
I found a button on the side of a river a couple years ago while hiking in northern Wisconsin and I still dont know much about it. It's a P.B.C.O Patented Dec. 9 1924 button but theres no company brand name or anything on the inside. and unlike other buttons of this type ive looked at, its made...

Got my metal detector last week - a newbie. Uncle next door has found hundreds of civil war and colonial relics / coins. Found this round metal piece in the woods. Appears to be carved... Or maybe not? Any thoughts?
This button was found on the site of a Catholic church (which was recently demolished).
It appears to have a Latin inscription. Perhaps part of a priest's robes.
Hoping someone out there might have a clue about it.
I know they're rough.I found them in a site near Trenton NJ that has produced several 1700s British Copper Coins, buttons, relics etc.The One with the 3 on front is the one with the hollow back. The One with the name on back is the one with the blank front.I have not attempted to clean them beyond...
Hello all, new to the Forum. Found this button (so I think it's a button) but cannot identify its origins.

Today while detecting around an Indiana house built in the early 1900's, I came across this button. It is obviously in the style of a military type button, but I noticed it did not have a raised edge nor horizontal banding, as on other military buttons I have seen. Was this a replica for...
Last year I found this button at a park in Indiana that has been in existence for over 100 years. It appears to be a military button that has been shot through. My questions are - Is this a real military button? If so, is there any way of telling which war it comes from. It appears to have...
I collect military buttons and buttons in general. Has cadet on the front. This is marked "Scovill Mfg Co" so I know it is post 1850. Can anyone help with a more definitive age or age least decade?
Have never seen a button with patterns like this before but that is what makes buttons interesting, "The Variety ! " This button sounded off rather softly but read out very close to a nickel reading on my E-Trac. Has nice patterns with very detailed features. This button has to have a bit of...
BCP uniform button by Rosenfeld Bros.
Rosenfeld Brothers operated out of shops on Baltimore St nr. Light, prior to 1900.This button was found beneath an oak tree in Wyman Park, an area I had hunted many times prior, but on my last hunt there in January 2015, the button surfaced. I have not...
Looks like a flat button
This came out of the ground corroded. It was put through a limited electrolysis and then a copper cleaner.
These two steps helped reveal the surface detail, which is a seven-petal flower on the front(sunflower?) and a missing shank on the back.
This appears to be a...
This is a button I found this spring. It was found in the woods adjacent to a park. I have not been able to find records of homes or farms where the woods stands, so I can't give you an idea of when people lived here. I suspect it was at the turn of the last century. The button is flat with...
I dug this "Sanforized" button today in the backyard of a home built in the mid 1940's; however, prior to that the land was a farm dating back to the turn of the century. Does anyone know what general time frame this script style is from? Also, would this have been on overalls or could it have...
Here is my booty for the day... Kind of curious if anyone can identify the button and lego piece as well as the age of the airplane.
The lego piece feels heavy but not as pliable as pure lead, I couldn't seem to bend it.
The airplane is cast of metal (came up as a nickel/pull tab on my ACE...
I dug up a large area of my back yard Northeast Wisconsin, these are some of the things I found, I know what the hoe is and the other garden or farm tool, but don't know age or anything else about them. That belt thing is about 4 ft. long. The blue jacket had two buttons left on it, one was a...
Hello guys. I`ve found this button in this weekend on the old forest road in Semenic Mountains, Romania. I see on this hungarian seal. Can you tell me how old is it and if it has a value. Thanks, Mihail

A friend of mine found this button the other day.
Any info would be great. It looks like a sporting button, but I can't make out the creature on the front. There's a glass? eye that remains in tact. Also, the back is pretty cool.
:blackbeard:
Perhaps British army? I couldn't read it because it so small , it is also thin or worn. I scanned it in to try to read it better and looks like latin words.
There is nothing written on the back. It is the exact same size as a U.S. One Cent penny.
Anyone know what this is? I live in Savannah...
Good afternoon all,
Last weekend was doing some "prospecting" in a vast wooded area in southern Virginia.
Found a few square nails, three shotgun shells dating to the late 1800's and "THIS"
which I ~believe~ to possibly be a button? But any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Just for some...
Button found yesterday in Lancaster, SC. Here are some better close up pics. Motto "AUT VINCERE AUT MORI" on front with a big "A" in center. Nothing on back. This is the motto of the First Fighter Wing.... Any info?
Hey guys and gals, its been a while since Ive posted any finds, but thought I'd share a find from a hunt I had with my dad after being stuck in the house for a few days due to bad weather! We went out hunting an area off the old Bellamy Rd which was one of the first roads to cut though the...
This is my first post and first relic find. I just started with my garrett ace 350 to get started and i love everything about metal detecting. I have searched several places and really cant pinpoint what i have here. I think it is a "great seal" button but i cannot find a date. Also there are...
Can anyone help me identify this button. Its brass and has the remains of a ring on the back. It was found in an area where I have been finding coins from the mid 1800s up to modern coins. The material is a dredge pile from the MS Sound. There was a naval battle just days before the Battle Of...
