I'm new to posting, but I have been reading all of your posts on this forum and they are so helpful and great. I have searched for plenty of answers to my questions, but I have a few more. Hopefully someone can help.
I started with a Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 about 2 years ago. Like...
So yeah, found what I believe to be a Nazi Party gold pin yesterday at the park. Gorgeous pin. But I flipped it over to discover it was engraved "SS" with the date of 12-31-33. I know 1933 was a big year for the Nazis. It's a little chilling to think this pin could be celebrating the killing of...
I am new to the site, new to metal detecting, and new to the AT Pro. I find it hard to go out and dig deep signals because I'm not sure what the standard is on whats good and whats bad. So in everyones experience, what types of deep signals do you dig?
Well beside raining had to do mandatory OT so only had limited time. Got the Nel BIG coil for the AT Pro. It works awesome been digging some really deep targets. Also still using the V3i, it's a coin and jewelry magnet. I will continue to use them tougher because they both are awesome...
I just picked up a CORS Scout 12.5" x 8.5" DD search coil for my AT Pro and couldn't find any reviews. I was just curious if anyone here had some feedback on it's performance. I'm in Massachusetts so I won't be able to get out for a while
Went back to the abandoned house again today but it was much colder. Found a group of clad but not as much as yesterday. found a 1917 S wheat in the same drive way I found the 1917 D yesterday. Also got a really worn 1926 S Merc that was 2" underneath a 1962 penny in the same hole. Found...
I got this idea from a thread on this site which led me to try this myself and post so other may benefit. I purchased all of this for around $90 on the internet. My setup is a bit different in that I use a Garrett cable which plugs into the headphone jack with the other end being a 1/4" stereo...
Had a good weekend considering the ground was froze solid last week end. Found a totally worn Standing Liberty Quarter, 1902 Indian, .925 Silver necklace charm, and a huge decorative button. Also cashed in clad and savings and bought a Whites V3i can't wait.
Thanks for looking and many...
Had a pretty good weekend, Scored a beautiful 1907 IHP, two 1926 D and S Merc's and a 1906 D Barber and 1907 S Barber. Thanks for looking. All coins were saved with a At Pro in a well hunted park.
Just hunting today for a while. Scored a 1904 IHP, a junior LSS pin from the 30-40's (was given out to Boy Scouts that passed the Life Saving Service class), found a football charm to kids rings and a train rivet from overhauls.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting to all
Has anyone tried th eel Snake coil out for any machine? I'm thinking of getting one for my At Pro and would like some feedback. I hope it will be a good sniper coil. I have a DFX with a 4 x 6 and it's great. Any comments are helpful. If I end up winning it I will post on my results.
Thanks
Has anyone tried the Nel Snake for the At Pro? I think it's 3 1/2" x 6 1/2", If so what's your opinion? I love my big Nel (Storm) but I want to try a true shooter type cool.
Thanks of any info
Does any one run the At Pro with the Big Nel coils 17"? Is it good for detecting deep coins especially dimes? I run the Storm and love it. Been finding dimes now down to 10". Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Went to an old park I thought I cleaned out. That was when I thought 6-8 inch coins were ask I could get. Slowed down completely and try to make every questionable signal in to a good one before I move on. Every one of these coins were found at 8 to 10 inches and to make sure the signal had...
Went to what I refer to as Merc park for 2 hours today and found a 1944 D Merc and a ring. The ring feels heavier than silver and rang up in the 70's on the At Pro. Here's the marking inside can anyone help me on what it is? Thanks for any help. You guys are usually awesome.
Not much today but I got an oldie, she's kinda ugly and worn and not that rare
Well since Da Bears Stink I've been going detecting in some of my well hunted parks on Sundays and for the second straight Sunday I scored a Barber (1900 S). Got it with the At Pro and Nel Storm she was down just...
Heres my finds from the last 2 days. I got a 1953 S Washington QTR, 1943 D Merc, 1903 Indian Head, couple of bus tokens, an amusement token, couple of silver earrings and a good luck charm from local parks. Also got a 10 Pfenning German token from the rejected coin slot of the Dynastar coin...
Went to a couple of parks yesterday and today, scored a 1946 and 1949 S Rosies, a sterling cross, a cheap M (for MAckDog) ring, a victorian pin and 14 inch herring bone plated necklace. I found most of these with my At Pro, but did find my first 7 inch deep penny with the DFX a 1917 S in good...
Does the effectiveness of the AT Pro in wet sand/saltwater really depend on the mineralization of the beach? I did a beach hunt in New Jersey earlier this year and had crazy falsing in the salt (even with the coil cover removed), but AMAZING results on dry land. Now perhaps it was the beach...
Took my newly repaired At Pro out for a water test. Well she ran awesome and no leaks. Caught 3 while ring fishing. One Silver one coper and one steel. The steel one is perhaps a Jewish ceremonial or wedding band. It is engraved both inside and out. If anyone can I identify what language...
At Pro is back from shop and she's whining really good
At Pro is back from the Doctors and she's trying to make up for lost time. Took her out to 3 parks and she scored 1917 S Merc, 1942 S Merc, 1919 Wheat and 1942 Wheat. All were found down around the 7" range, and were all schwa high...
My At Pro has been acting up lately, now it's totally unstable. Of course it's a couple of month's over warranty. SO I call Garrett to see about getting it fixed and they tell me they will cover it under warranty. That's what I call service.
Will let you know how it works out
Went to 2 different new parks to try them out. Yesterday found the 1935 Merc down 7" today different park found the 1943 S Merc at 4". I was really surprised to see the silver edge when I dug the hole. It was right next to the kids play area a high hit area for parks. Thanks for looking
Found this don't know what it is
Ok found this, my guess sometime of military award or medal. Found in a park that dates to 1902
Thanks for looking and would appreciate any info or leads from the experts here
Hit a private yard with my bestie AKA Mineslob. Small house built in 1929. Didn't find much, but what we did find was nice. Mineslob hit a gold ring with his E Trac, and I hit this beautiful 1902 Barber Dime. It's weird because I hit silver with the AT Pro, and he hit gold with his E Trac...
went to different parks to day and scored a loyt of 60's clad. Gave up and spent the last hour at one of my old hunted out parks. Got a signal that was repeatable but really faint. Decide dot dig got down to 8" till I got a reading with the pinpointer. The Merc (1942 D) was on it's side but...
1855 half cent. Kinda trashed. Just feels good to be back out there after a long winter. Rang in as a solid 85 for all you AT Pro guys out there. It's about a nickel sized copper. Beautiful coin. Found it where Knox camped while bringing cannons to Washington at Bunker Hill. Obviously this coin...

DFX earned it's Jump wings and the AT Pro nailed a Barber and took home the ring
Still trying to get the hang of the DFX so I split time with the At Pro. The DFX hit a nice set of jump wings at 4" and a few more coins. The At Pro hit the Barber (1906 S) at 8" and the silver ring (325) at 5"...
Yesterday went to a club hunt at a Boy Scout camp. found a a couple of wheats with the At Pro and a silver 1945 S war nickel with the DFX. Today went to a local park and found 50 plus clads with the DFX and a 1928 S Merc and a wheat with the At Pro. Starting to get used to the DFX and it is a...
Ok so I don't hate the DFX anymore
went yesterday and got the British penny and steel ring with the At Pro. Today I decided to give the DFX a real shot (left the At Pro at home so I couldn't switch back). Found 30 clad coins (9 nickels) the bling ring, a set of gold earrings (plated) and an...
Checking out different parks today. Found a Navy button made by Waterbury button co. This is my best looking button ever. Could use some help with the ID and possible date. Also found 2 trade lottery tokens again, one for !0c and the other for $1.25 in trade. Thanks for looking
Went to my go to park today and found 3 wheats 1918S, 1927 S and 1944 S. The 1910 was found yesterday. And a toasted 1901 V nickel. I know it's toasted (why I hate nickels) but I love finding the history. Thanks for looking and may all your signals be deep and Sweet
Found a 1942 D and 1920 S Merc 1941 Wheat and a American Welding and Ironworks Good luck token from Spokane. Need any info on this?
Thanks for looking and Happy hunting
Went to one of my favorite parks to day, even though I have really hit it hard. I still got 3 greenies only one an Indian Head, the other 2 aren't to bad though. And it's the first 1800's USA coin for the year.
Thanks for looking
MackDog
Went to my new hot park and scored my first Indian Head of the year 1902, unfortunately the park is highly fertilized and eats the pennies badly. Also found an old rodeo or western Button.
Thanks for looking
Tried a new park today, got 4 rings all junkers, best one says 18KHGE (heavy gold electroplate). 2 wheats 1910 and 1938 S and a pretty good looking Merc 1924 S. I thought the Pro was broke not been scoring many deep ones till today. The wheat and Merc were all 7" plus.
Thanks for looking and...
went to a park named after a President today, it was nice out and so all the kids were running around in the field where I wanted to hunt. I wanted to work on my coin count for th clubs finds and just have a relaxing day. I decided to work on digging nickels today. For the first 2 hours the...
