I found this today in the Nodaway river in southwest Iowa. It is close to being a perfect sphere. Might be an early attempt of putting the divots in Fred Flintstones golf ball!!
I found a few interesting things in Indiana around the Bloomington area and I was wondering if I could get information on them. It's sort of a random lot, but I figure someone may have a better idea than me. Any guesses would be much appreciated!
Found this on the banks of a large cypress pond/swamp in the Florida panhandle. It is not metal! Any help in identifying what it is would be very much appreciated.
These were found together in an old shop on my grandparent's farm. Is the one without the haft grove an actual maul/artifact or not? The only reason I suspect it may be is it does show some wear on the rounded end. These are the only photos I have.
Possible Native American maul (left photo)? The only reason I ask is it was found in a collection with other 'actual' mauls that have grooves for hafting. Also, it does seem to have some tip wear. This is the only photo I have...
I was that kid, the one who would find a hammock and declare it a dinosaur tooth or a crinoid fossil and call it a bead
So of course I picked this up at the river one day
Because of my predisposition of 'it's an artefact!!'
I've only ever considered it a cool rock, that looks like an artifact...
It was found in South America. Front, back, and overhead view.
Thanks!

I know and am okay with the idea that these are just rocks weathered to look like tools, and have been told by 1-2 people that are not experts in the area but one was an expert in geology. Have a few but want to start with this one (brown) because I am convinced it was a tool with the pure...
My brother found this near Princeton Mo and he noticed the lizard when washing it off. Anyone have any idea what this is? He has found a lot of arrowheads and spearheads in this area, so possibly American Indian related?

Found these in my usual spot this past weekend. I'm still learning and would rather be safe than sorry. Does this look like a thumb scraper and maybe the beginning of a knife? The edge looks worked to me.
Thanks in advanced.
Hi, I found this stone tool(presumably) about 200ft from the Tennessee River, near Decatur, Alabama. This is my third attempt at seeking out someone who has seen a tool of this particular shape/size & who has some knowledge of what its intended purpose was. Judging by what appear to be finger...
NEW HERE.. So be easy on me... Need help identifying an object i found recently. . Has a hole bored or cut into just large enough for a finger to fit.
Not magnetic... Thanks
Hi everybody. First thank you to everyone who has emailed and written us about our recent finds. River and I have come across a very special site in the mountains of Washington State which is producing incredible finds every time we are there. We’ve decided to put together a three part video...
I went to a Forest Preserve Creek trying to see what it's like to look for arrowheads in IL. I found nothing that resembles what I thought I might find, but I did find this curiously symmetrical piece. Anything important or just a geological anomaly? Thanks!
Hey all,
I’m new to this forum and was hoping that someone could help me identify this “artifact”.
It was given to me recently and apparently it was found in a creek in Tennessee.
I was told that it could potentially be a incomplete Mortar? The depression in the center definitely appears to be...
Any info on this face effigy with 1 eye closed & other open? Is it supp.2 be good/ba
Hi, I found this buried about 8inches deep in the ground under a huge tree !! There are Indian mounds all over the area and artifacts ...This was found in llano county !! I read somewhere that the Indians...
Hi,
I recently purchased a Native American pendant (listed as a gorget) on ebay. I knew going in that the artifact could be faked or repro, but there was enough of the genuine about it that I decided to acquire it. At worst I've purchased a very well crafted fake and an attractive decorative...
So I'm always searching for different treasures whether it's digging them from the ground or browsing the local classifieds and I've just acquired something I'm pretty excited about. This powder horn is to date the most fascinating Revolutionary War artifact I've come across and my reason for...
Hello everyone and happy Sunday!
I recently discovered something astonishing! In late March, I was measuring trees to identify their age. While I was measuring a 110 year old tulip popular tree, I looked down to see what I originally thought was a broken mason jar cap. I was so wrong! I saw...
I live in Connecticut and found these artifacts (or rocks). I live in an area frequented by the Tunxis tribe. I cleaned them off with water and a toothbrush. The last one is painted on one side and appears to have a person with a hunchback playing a flute to a bird? It’s only painted on one...
I went to my property in Luthersville Ga yesterday after the rain. It is in a wetland area. I have seen a few arrowheads this year but found what appears to be a hatchet tool head? Not sure so posting. Thanks for the insight!
I recently returned from a few months of working on a farm in Idaho. I’m going through all my finds I stumbled upon in the desert and mountains..going to post the mystery rocks/objects the next few days but I’ll start with just the simple stuff. Any info/opinion is welcome !
This rock is heavy...
Im always looking and hopeful to actually find artifacts. My sister and I never give up. Any thoughts? I found them in northern Michigan.
Thank you in advance for your time.
Found this today while looking for Carnelian in some local streams. I'm pretty sure that it's an artifact, because it is jasper, looks worked and even has tiny serrations along the sharp edge too. I'm a novice with artifacts though, so I figured that I'd ask what others thought. Any insights...
I found this on a 1 square mile site along with some other points that I have posted in other threads. I think it's a perfect example of a questionable artifact. This rock type is not found on this site naturally. I almost tossed it back on the ground, but i now think it is an artifact...
Hello all, I found a old looking artifact in my great uncles house after he passed away. I can't seem to sort out what it is but I'm assuming it's from Mexico? It's in a glass case. Any ideas?
After 15 years of expert analysis, some of the artifacts are to go on permanent display for the first time.

Hello everyone,
I started hunting arrowheads 5 years ago. I hunt a few cornfields, but I mostly hunt the Ohio River banks. The river has been up for quite a while, was just able to get out last weekend since August. Lots of erosion in the high banks due to prolonged high water. I found what I...
Happened upon this rock a while back but still puzzled as to what it might be. I'm mostly a Native American artifact hunter so you can see why I just had to pick it up lol. Strange shape as if someone made it that way, and if not by some natural means there are 3 scratch/tally marks on the top...

Hello,
While I was out digging in creek banks for carnelian in central New Jersey, I dug up this carnelian that appears to have been worked. It looks like a thumb scraper to me, but I am mainly a mineral collector, so I'm far from an expert on artifacts. I know for a fact that there were Native...
A friend of mine has this his really cool, super old button. He's had it for years but not too much background on it. It belonged to his father who had an Amazing eye, and many beautiful finds himself.
All we know is this button was found in Nevada. Has anyone here seen anything similar or have...
