I found this piece today along the Patuxent River on the southern peninsula. This spot has a lot of History. War of 1812 came ashore here and an old manor called Susquehanna was on site not far.
The piece is all stone. Agate. No holes and the sides are smooth. I’m stumped!! 😳❤️
Help ID the item on the left. Found last night amongst whole points, broken points and flakes. It is intentionally shaped. In the photo shown the center is raised, the sides have been knapped to form a circle. The reverse is flat, with a rounded rim. Randolph Co. WV
I found this a while back in my garden and am just curious if there are any ideas?? It looks almost as though it is part of a small stone bowl or something??? Thank you in advance
Hey Everyone,
Last fall, I was prospecting in Clear Creek Canyon along US 6 And found something interesting.
I was working an old dried up gravel bench where the river used to flow, and several feet down behind a large boulder, I spotted this bizarre "notched" rock in the hole.
I cannot...
What are your thoughts?? I've seen many hand held size abraders online but not many larger stones...maybe I'm just not looking in the right places though. Maybe I'm completely wrong but these grooves don't look like anything natural to me. It has different width and depth grooves.
I've had a few...
I was given this possible arrowhead and Im stumped if it is one. Any opinions? I saw 2 possible percussion strikes on the last photo (highlighted with water) and it is shaped right, however I haven’t seen this material before.
Hello, well we didn't get the rain they were predicting (they were talking possible flash flooding, i was kinda hoping for it to clear some of the top soil) but we still got some thankfully.
I got out today (Feb 28th) anyway to give it a shot & was lucky to spot the Triangle BIRD?(NO INSITU...
Hello, This past Tuesday before the cold set in I was able to get to my Go to spot in this field (that hasn't really produced lately because of no rain) & was actually able to find something, the first pic is when I walked up on it, because of the location/color I was sure it was something, &...
chungkey is a game and this is a game piece they used. Right?! Interesting. I found it in the sw Colorado mountains. A game local to Tennessee, Georgia Illinois and Missouri. Chahokia regions. I just am more sure than ever that I am near an old trading post? The saga continues. What do I do with...

This was a recent artifact found in Jerusalem (Found by Efrat Greenwald, member of the Ophel Expedition). King Hezekiah lived between 739 BC - 687 BC (Between ages 51-54 years old when death occured). If you want to learn more about this king, read the "Gods and Kings" Book Series, by Lynn Austin!
Hello. I found this large stone artifact while hiking this weekend, I thought it looked like an old weapon head or tool.
It has hole indents on the top and bottom. Just looking for some information on what it could actually be, thank you.
Did I find a kettle point? A few people on Facebook said a sickle mower blade, but I’m not sure I agree after looking at some photos. There aren’t any holes in it.
It was in the hole with a few small scraps of the same metal. I live along a river that was heavily guarded during the War of...
Found in Stanislaus county, exactly where is unknown. Belongs to a friend. Looks like a tool to me, opinions welcome. 2 very flat edges. Somebody had painted it blue but I did my best to clean it up.
Found a rather good collection on the need to know , I wish to know if these are pre Palio or not.!? Iv over 300 knifes and axe heads and arrowheads ,chipping, skinners, spear tips . Discovered to my knowledge in kingman AZ recently by a woman I met in town and on my purchase of them I was sure...
I found this in one of my fields this past spring, almost hit it with the mower! Not sure what it is, I am guessing some kind of Native American artifact. The bigger hole on the top next to the quarter is about 3/4” deep, about 1 1/4” diameter. It has 3 smaller holes each about 1/2” diameter...
Hey all! Just purchased these from a local auction and was hoping I could get some terminology on what these are and what they were used for. Still learning so any info is appreciated. Thanks!
Recently purchased this Pre-Columbian piece at a small local auction and was hoping I could receive some insight on it. It is said to be Mexican but that is all I have. I've tried to research to see if there are any similar pieces but have been unsuccessful. Any help is appreciated!

I found this grindstone while metal detecting in Eastern NC. I also found a few archaic period artifacts nearby. On closer inspection I noticed intersecting lines / channels and notching along some of the channels. I would appreciate any feedback on whether the marks represent run of the mill...
I found this walking along the banks of the Raritan River at Raritan Landing, a major historical settlement in central NJ. I actually came across it 10 years ago and rediscovered it among my treasures trove today. It’s probably made of clay—seems denser and heavier than terracotta. I put a...

Hi TreasureNet folks,
I'm trying to figure out the origins of this pick axe and crow bar we found while exploring an old trading route. The pick axe has markings... maybe a "forge mark?"
Does anyone have any insights, or even pictures of other axes they know about that match this one? Would...

All photos were taken yesterday after noon v (except the last one)
