I almost want to say hire a security consultant, don't write anything on paper. memorize gps cord nets. leave no info around your house. dirt bags would not hesitate to brake in to look for clues or maps if they do figure out who you are. As a gold miner I feel one of my most important tools is a good 45. I hate to bring a dark cloud to the treasure beach but facts is facts.
Spend time metal detecting beaches the other side of the Island from where your finds have been. If working from a boat do go fishing, but not always over your hot spot. Especially now you have pics, go fishing some place else a few times. Wouldn't be funny to watch someone diving where you went fishing and caught dinner, as long as it was miles from your spot.
Best of luck, stay safe , and trust no one. NO ONE.
My brother and I were best friends I worked hard for free to help him start a new business. Right after he bought his wife a new sports car is when I began to realize three things. 1.the company was making money, 2. WE meant him, and 3.he never intended for us to be in business, together. I, years latter ask him why he thought I spent all that time and money. His answer was " I thought you had nothing better to do." All the verbal agreements he conveniently forgot. Get any and all agreements in writing, no matter how small you think they are.
example Someone wants to come dive with you one day only. Written agreement on who keeps what. What if he comes and is the one who finds the big chest full of gold. If he gets whatever he finds you could be screwed. You do all the work, work on it for years and this one day diver walks away with the biggest part of the loot. Get these kind of things planed out way ahead of time. good luck.

Well written and stated!

Hey BIV hunter

Great find! I am a newbie hunting over in St Thomas. I am going through the same learning curve. Yesterday I found stuff that is DEEP in growth. Would love to hear what you have learned about cleaning/sonic possibilities.

My normal hunting grounds have pushed the sand WAY out right now (July 12)...literally the water line sand is about 2-3 feet below normal. Lots of rock is exposed and lots of hits. I am digging everything.

Over here in St Thomas there is a certain level of anonymity, but I think you should be real careful about BVI...even if you just type one strange "language term" people might be able to peg you from your posts.

I can refer you to a couple of good resources here in USVI that help me identify stuff. Which I think might be a better idea due to BVI antiquity laws(?). Maybe even rent a small safe deposit box in the USVI. Just a short ferry ride away ;)

If you ever want to hunt STT give me a shout out! Lots of cool stuff here! The tourist finds are just iceing on the cake.

Ha! I got what you were saying, no worries!

As we say in Blighty; Slowly, slowly catchee monkey!!!!

Just realized, I didn't mean that I didnt want YOU to find them, just meant that I hoped someone didn't hone in and hit your area. Good luck, get out there and get some!!!!

As you all may have noticed, I have not participated very much lately in the discussions in this Thread and felt it best to advise everyone the reason behind this! First, I had spent way too much time in a short period reading and making posts in this Thread and another Thread which I had participated quite often in and became somewhat burnt out. And second, my' mind has been elsewhere as my' middle sister, Frances who is 70 years old, is dying from congestive heart failure and renal failure. She has had a lot of health problems ever since having the Flu last Winter and then coming down with Pneumonia this Spring. After being released from the hospital in May, she fell and fractured a disk in her' spine and was in a lot of pain. Although she was seeing a Doctor every week, they failed to find the spinal fracture and my sister's pain got worse and worse. As a result she became very inactive, staying in bed much of the time which caused excess fluid to build up in her' body and especially around her' heart. She was again taken to the hospital, where after a little over two weeks, they were finally able to get the excessive fluids out of her' body her' and her' kidneys working again but she had suffered quite a bit of heart damage. While in the hospital, the Doctors operated on her' spine to fuse the fractured spinal disk but we can't understand why since they apparently knew that she was going to die! She came home about a week ago and within 4 days, she was back in congestive heart failure and renal failure again but this time, they are worse than before with no way to reverse them. She began the death rattle this morning and after an appoinment with my' Doctor this morning, I spent most of the day with her and family members at her' home. While she is still holding on, there is nothing that can be done and will likely pass in the next day or so. I hate to ask but if you can, please pray for her that she will pass with ease and that she will soon be our Lord, our' parents and our older sister, Shirley, who passed in 2011.

Once we have had time to grieve and things have gotten a little more back to normal, I am sure that you will find me posting many, many more times on the forums here. In the meantime, I will check back from time to time and post if I can.

Thank you in advance for your understanding, your thoughts and your prayers!

Sorry to hear of your sisters plight Frank , not much more i can add except i'll send a prayer . Mick

How about NOW??

I went out with my camera on a weighted line and set the timer and dropped it over the side, after about a 150 pics of nothing but fish, I hit this?

two things that get my Spidey Senses tingling...

1) this is the exact same spot where the "old gentleman" told me he used to see a Pen*s on the sea bed when he was younger
2) the debris field of finds I have been plotting leads to this area

Please excuse my poor attempt at drawing with a mouse!

tell me I'm not wrong?

LOL not a bad idea but, if you want some guys good in the water and can help on your diving excursions, look for some SBS gents!

Doc,
BVI only has enough beer for the land based guys... The SBS guys will be sending to USVI for more beer and BVI hunter would need a bank loan against the coins to pay the bar bill, trust me he's better off with land based nutters

A-Sqn Boat Troop can handle it!

The SBS boys will be to busy flapping their paddles and trying to walk with their webbed feet........ :laughing7:

A large group of Taliban soldiers are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand-dune.

"One British SAS soldier is better than ten Taliban".

The Taliban commander quickly sends 10 of his best soldiers over the dune whereupon a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence. The voice then calls out "One British SAS soldier is better than one hundred Taliban".

Furious, the Taliban commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune and instantly a huge gunfight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence. The voice calls out again "One British SAS soldier is better than one thousand Taliban".

The enraged Taliban Commander musters one thousand fighters and sends them across the dune. Cannon, rocket and machine gun fire ring out as a huge battle is fought. Then silence. Eventually one wounded Taliban fighter crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander, "Don't send any more men, it's a trap, ...there's actually two of them."

Don't I know it. Me and mine could always hold our own but the worst and longest lasting hangover I (we) ever had was after a full 24 hours of drinking gin and tonics in Gibraltar with some of our buddies there and let me tell ya....you ain't kidding man. Started at 12 in the afternoon, still hung over from the previous night, ran into those guys.....back to drinking......g&t s all day.......and harassing all passers by. :)......I and a teammate took a break at 8pm to shower and drink some water.....back out at 9 and linked back up with our British buddies (who never bothered to leave the bar) and proceeded to do shots....more g& t s and Guiness....... finished up and back home at 12 the next afternoon. Most of the day/night was pretty hazy as you can imagine! I do know I never got sick but I sure as hell wished I did when I finally woke up!
