holy **** another relative i am fidning out quite recently since my mommas real daddy was one of the shelton brothers

Hello everyone. I am not as closely related to the Shelton Brothers as some of you are - they are my cousins way back.
My grandmother was a Shelton and it's through her line that we are related....but I don't know through who.
Has anyone every heard of Billy "Blue" Shelton?

Shana, I read your post and my grandmother was related to "Blue" Roy or Blanche Shelton, but I don't how they were related or connected. My grandmother had ten children in all with the oldest born in 1926 and the youngest 1953. We have been told of land that my grandmother owns in IL with oil wells, but she died with Alzheimer's in March of l990. She kept a secret all her life and said they would come after she died with what she owned and it would go to her children and grandchildren. When Alzheimer's started in the early 80's you couldn't get anything out of her about it any more. I wonder if this is where it originated from the Shelton's.

Hello, Im Andi. Im not a relative, but I just recently learned about The Shelton Brothers. I actually go on Zillow to look at old houses because I'm fascinated by them, and their old home here in Peoria, IL is for sale. God if I had the money i would buy it. any who I love history and researching. and i grew up in east Peoria and Bloomington but have never heard of them before. I even asked some of my older relatives and they have never heard of them. so, I went into my researching mode a few days ago and got sucked in to the history. and would love to learn more. I feel like there should be a movie about it all. I mean Al got movies; the brothers deserve one also. It was all part of history. Most people don't think about the past anymore. but the past made this country. the history should be shared. So, we can learn from our mistakes and achievements as a country. And it would be good for all of the Shelton family and friends to know their family's history. and we need to acknowledge the past for the life's lost also. their story needs to be heard by more than just long-lost family and treasure hunters. (no offense) I don't even know if anyone will read this since its been so long since anyone's pasted on here, but I would love to hear your stories and research. Or if your like me and love history and giving those that are gone a voice please reach out.
