Reunited after 160 years. I posted before about finding half of a 1860’s two piece military buckle from the British 41st middlesex corps and ran out of time trying to search for the possibly of the other half near an overgrown cellar hole location and never made it back. Well a few weeks later my friend who recently purchased a minelab equinox went back to try the area again. He managed to find the other half and let me know as soon as he could excitedly. I was shocked at the news. He instantly said he wanted me to have it knowing how hard I was searching and hoped it was there. It’s even better knowing the half was found by him and such a good gift to me then if I found the second half myself. I owe him my gratitude. I knew it was the match by the location it was found, by the design and that they both had little lot number 25 stamps on each. Thanks for looking and I’m super excited to add the complete buckle to my collection! 😁👍

That is a beautiful buckle. I wonder how one would lose a belt buckle; wouldn't you notice it was missing when your pants fell down? Ha!

I always wondered myself. Maybe at a fast pace it slipped off and into longer grass. By the time realized no way of knowing exactly where.🤷‍♂️
