remember too.... back in the '60's we were told "bird points" were made for birds...

Never heard of bird points till I moved to Texas in 78'. We always called them Arrowheads and the larger ones spears.
So there is that...

Here is my favorite hafted scraper, probably an Otter Creek, from here in Central NY. I've also posted differing views of a strange hafted scraper found in Ontario, Canada. I exhibits unusual 'beveling' of the sharpend blade and edge, an unusual 'angle' I guess is how best I'd describe it.

Here is a halted knife found by a plumber digging a sewer line near the St. John's River in Seminole County.

Very nice, a rare find.

Here is a Thebes hafted scraper from one of my Thebes frames.

This relic is 2 inches in length. Made of Burlington Chert.

Here’s one I found yesterday. I’ve found others in Woodland sites over the years. Idk why they liked quartz for their scrapers.

I hate to come in behind Gar after he posted those but here you go. End Scrapers and unifsced blades. A lot of the pictures didn’t come through as in hand singles. Most of these are from Kentucky. Some nice material in this frame.

Fish Stick, you are correct about all those blunts being dart points. I suspect most were projectile points hafted to a stout dart. As they got damaged or worked down, they were repurchased to an end scraper . I am sure that is the case with the paleo examples i posted.
That said, Friley points are a true archery point that often made wide points obviously intended make a broad cut and limit penetration. These are an East Tx type from a heavily wooded area. I have heard it speculated that they were for squirrel hunting in trees. A miss would not likely leave the arrow stuck high in a tree yet would certainly cut a hole on a squirrel.
