Looks like you had a tough week on the halves, but the Barber dime makes up for it. One of my goals is to find a Barber dime. I've found lots of Mercury dimes, but never a Barber dime.

Nice score on the loose halves. I never have any luck with loose halves, but the boxes have been pretty good to me.

A V nickel ender. That's not something you see every day. A little slow on your halves, but a great week otherwise.

Nice score on the loose halves. I never have any luck with loose halves, but the boxes have been pretty good to me.

The loose can be hit and miss since they sit in front of tellers all day. But if you do find some, be sure to hit that bank up every month or so. I will always find more silver at these banks because the tellers don't know what they are looking at :laughing7:

Congrats on the unwrapped finds. I wonder if there's many silver plated gold coins. Probably more platinum plated gold coins I suppose. :dontknow:

Week of 8/25 to 8/31

My best week ever quantity wise! A fun week indeed with a couple of firsts

Halves
Box 1 - skunk
Box 2 - skunk. 1991s and a 2002s. Both needed for my album
$725 of cwr - 39x 40%ers!! '64d, and a 2001s 90%er (my first!)
1 bag $307.50 - 5x 40%ers. '64d. 1962 Canadian 80%er (also a first!). The bag also had 3 Canadian twonies and a car wash token.
$26 loose - '68d, '69d

Dimes
Box 1 - '63d
$90 cwr - skunk

Overall for halves - 46x 40%ers. 3x 90%ers, 1x 80%er. 51 silver coins in all.

Here are a few pics! HH!

Congrats! Two fists full of silver in one week is a great week indeed! And congrats on finding the foreign silver and the 90% silver proof too. Both of those are still on my yet to find list.

H$H!

Thanks SilverFace! A lot of firsts crossed of the list this month!

Barber dime
V nickel
Eisenhower proof
Canadian silver half and George VI dime
90% silver proof
90% from a teller tray

I'm still hoping to find a silver dollar in circulation. It's going to be tough and take a lot of luck... Right place at right time

Those are a lot of firsts to find in just one month. Most of those I've still not found yet myself. But I did finally find my first clad proof Ike last month ('73S). I've been pretty lucky with silver dollars myself. I've found 10 silver dollars in the past 3 1/2 years and they always seem to be my most surprising finds. You're right, finding them is all about luck and timing. Even more so than the other coin denominations because silver dollars are so big and unique these days and are coins more likely to get the attention of tellers who normally don't care anything about coins or silver. Good luck in September.

H$H!

An amazing week. Some people search for months to find that much silver.

Week of 9/1 to 9/7

Halves
Box 1 - skunk
Box 2 - skunk. 76s
$17 loose - '68d
$60 cwr - '69

Dimes
Box 1 - '64x2' '63, '60
Coinstar - '64' '48

Nickels
Box 1 - skunk

Best dime box I've had with 4 silvers and always nice to see free silver in a coinstar twice in one week

Good week with the customer halves and esp the dimes. I think my best dime box had 4 silver also. Ive still never found any silver yet in a coinstar or any of the coin counters that I use for dumping. The best I ever seem to find is an occasional wheat cent. Maybe some day though.

H$H!

Nice dime box with four silvers. I only average one silver per box on dimes. Also, nice Coinstar finds. I'm still looking for my first silver from a Coinstar machine.

Week of 9/8 to 9/14

Halves
Box 1 - skunk
Box 2 - '66 x 2, '67, '68d, '69d x 2
$70 cwr - skunk
$290 re-crimped mwr - skunk of course
$14.50 teller trays - '67

Dimes
Box 1 - '47p, '64d, 1968 50% Canadian dime... Magnet approved :laughing7:
Box 2 - '62
Box 3 - '62d, '63d
$65 cwr - skunk

Nickels
Box 1 - 1928 buffalo
$45 cwr - '43s

Coinstar - 1943 steel penny

My best box of halves by far in a while with 6 40%ers and ends a 9 box skunk streak. Dimes were good again! Also, the war nickel this week completes my first tube of silver nickels (40)

Hope you all had a great week! HH!

Congratulations on finally ending your halves skunk streak. Looks like a nice week on dimes. I've done pretty poorly on dimes lately. War nickel #40? Wow! I'm hoping to find a steel penny. I always check the Coinstar machines, but haven't found anything good yet.

Week of 9/15 to 9/21

Halves
Box 1 skunk. '08s
Box 2 skunk
About $20 loose - '67

Quarters
Box 1 skunk

Dimes
Box 1 skunk
Box 2 - '46d

Coinstar - '45s merc, '62d, 64d

Thank goodness for a decent coinstar find. All 3 were sitting in the reject bin, with some misc foreign. I hope to pick up some cwr tomorrow from a bank open on Sunday, but it's a long shot. HH!

Wow, congrats on more great coinstar finds. And congrats on some nice boxes the week before also. I just ended a 7 box skunk streak with a 6 keeper box too. Its always nice ending a skunk streak with a decent box.

H$H!

Nice Coinstar finds. I'm still shooting for my first silver find from a Coinstar. I wonder if Coinstars reject all silver or just some of it? Nice to see someone searching quarters. I've had some luck with quarters--two silver quarters from four or five boxes.

From what I've read on this site, coinstar machines will reject most silver due to weight. However I've never seen a silver half or quarter in a reject tray..... And I'm too chicken to test it :laughing7:

I'm glad you have had some luck on the quarters. I've searched a few boxes but no luck yet. I mainly don't search them due to my dump situation. The coin counter I go to Only allows $400 per day, or they will charge a fee, so quarters can cause an xtra trip (I bag my halves).
