You See The Trio Digging Relics But You Don't See This!!

The Tennessee Trio members try to hunt weekly in the late fall, winter, and early spring. You see our posts and videos but you don’t see what happens in the background. Josh scouted a site yesterday and his finds are in the pic on the paper towel background. I scouted a potential CW site and my finds from today and 3 hunts last spring are in the next 2 pics on a red background. The bullets I dug today were in a line and I hope I can connect the dots to a Yankee camp in time. Dman (Doug) scouted a separate site today and his wife (Denise) graciously sent me a pic of the harness buckle, clipped corner plate, and the large silvered button that he dug during his short scouting mission. It takes all 3 of us scouting to find new sites. Some Tnet members have told me that we make digging relics consistently look easy. It’s not. It takes boots on the ground scouting as sites soon play out. HH from the Trio and stay tuned, Quindy.

I called Quindy earlier today with great news. I had stopped by this house four times prior and knocked on the door and rang the door bell and no one would come to the door. All vehicles were there each time I stopped. I told Quindy they must think I am a salesman or something!! But I didn't give up. I stopped again this morning and knocked and a man came to the door. I told him who I was, where I lived, explained metal detecting and what I was looking for. We talked for about 30 minutes and I got permission to metal detect on his farm. I have dug relics up to his fence and I believe there will be relics on his side as well. So don't ever give up just keep going back and knocking on that door! Lol

Good job Josh. If you want to dig relics, you have to stay with it. I've done the same thing that you did...... many times. I hope that you find a bunch of stuff there! Tennessee digger

It's all about research and teamwork. Maybe I will find some good stuff to share with my buddies the first of the week.

Q, I know exactly what you mean. In my above post I was joking around about scouting, digging, and covering up, but I worked almost a year trying to locate a CW camp where my g-grandfather was stationed. After 'thinking' I had found it, it took another almost act of congress to get permission to dig. I think it's much different for women than men because we have to make sure it is a 'safe' place to be, but I totally understand about doing research 'scouting' first. :) Breezie

Hey Q good to see you guys working for those finds, they don't come easy.
How big is Dmans clipped corner plate? Is it like the one I found?

Good to hear from you HB. BB told us when we hunted with him in LA that you have been really busy working with little time to hunt. Since the Trio all hunted separate sites, I haven't seen Doug's buckle in person but he said itb vwas about a quarter of the size of a regular clipped corner plate. Therefore, I'd say it was a ladies sash or belt buckle and considerably smaller than the 1814-16 military buckle you dug my friend. HH, Quindy.
