Here are some pix of just SOME of the free stuff I got at my favorite local auction! It was a good haul for sure! I spent $40 in the main room right away on 3 items & spent the rest of the day saving this stuff from the doom of the dump!

Sunbeam mixer w/ 2 sets of beaters but no bowls, Sunbeam clock, Pyrex & corning pie plates, several board games & books, Pearl fine china made in USA 22K painted swan planter in mint condition, bulldog planter, colonial or civil war era fork, STERLING silver sugar cube tongs (Web Sterling 15 grams), Falls City Beer can opener, silver or silver plate tiny bud vase, measuring shot glass, decorated carved small wood elephant, lots of restaurant ware type dishes & souffle cups (most not pictured, Syracuse & Hall type items). A few pieces of Corelle & a Pyrex amber glass oven/stove top pan w/lid (not pictured). Sliced piece of geode rock polished & made into a pen holder. Sears coffee house mug, turquoises vintage club pan lid, lead crystal dish, ceramic butterfly soap dish, amber glass small vase w/ gold paint probably Bohemian. A couple pieces of star of David, Brookstone foot massager, Cracker Barrel holiday plate NIB. Decanter with a ship on it, Cradle of the trotter A Goshen Turf History book (has some value). Ten Commandments wood & copper wall plaque, 1991 Cabbage Patch Preemie, Glass ball on wood base with flowers & butterfly inside it. Smith grape pattern odd size (goblet size) milk glass compote/vase? Set of TriStar kitchen & steak knives, box of envelopes, unopened pack of party invitations, some 1983 & 84 small plastic toys & an older Fisher Price baby radio, porcelain or ceramic figurines with an iridescent finish. Lots & lots more not pictured or mentioned! Oh the canisters you need if you wanna win the ugliest canisters of they year award! And a new hair iron & retractable bristle brush. I have seen worse stuff than this at some small local auctions here & this type of stuff gets thrown away at this particular place on a regular basis! Oh and not pictured are 2 unused sheets of 50 US 20 cent stamps (1 sheet is science & industry & the other sheet is birds) $20 face value!

Just ask them if its trash or what! I don't know how it works where you go but where I go once anything is taken to the area where the dumpsters are its up for grabs! There are maybe 7-10 people who leave this auction with cars full from what people throw away (in the summer it can be 15 or more people & becomes madness at points). These idiot scrappers get 90% of anything that has a cord & they cut the cord off & leave the item (if I hadn't grabbed that Sunbeam mixer & Brookstone thing when I did they would have got their cord cut off in 1 more second). These scrappers will cut the cord off a $100 or $300 item in a heart beat if they get to it first, it sickens me that they destroy so much stuff for a $0.07 or $0.10 cord. I have even offered to buy items off them before they cut the cord & they won't do it, I'm like I'll give ya $1 not to cut that cord & they just look at ya like they don't understand english & snip the cord. I just don't get it & they sit there and joke about it saying I guess a dollar is more than 10 cents! I'm like then WTH? I just quit trying to understand these people! BTW I became friends with a girl who has been doing this there for 5 years & she is buddies with many of the guys who buy lots & lots of pallets & anything they throw away she gets first dibs on & she gives me 2nd dibs on this stuff before its taken to the dumpster area. So getting in the know is a great way to get some good stuff easier without having to beat these scrappers to it!
