Yesterday, my "best day ever" - no "foolin" !!!

Wow, two major firsts(one of them twice), my second 2-silver day, and I didn't even break the 1900 barrier - but I was close. I also had a 1936 & 1946 wheat. Coins from top to bottom -

1901 IH penny, bright green but all four diamonds !!

Two buffalo nickels(never got one before) - 1917 & 1918, don't see any mint marks.

1905 V nickel (also a first)

two mercs, 1944 & 1942, both from the "S" mint.

All told, I would have to call it an amazing day, tomorrow I get to take my huntin buddy MD shopping, he's pretty sure it'll be an ace250. What a great week !!!!

Nice going Goldfish. Great collection of coins. Congratulations on a couple firsts. Those V-Nickels are tough to find. Buffalo's more common but I haven't found one for a good while now.

So are you "satisfied" or did this make you greedy?

Nat, saw your post, congrats on the buffalo, keep diggin those pulltab signals, they're startin to pay off !!! One of 'em might even be a gold ring !!

Nice job, gold fish!!! Those are some great "firsts" for you. Were you at a park or an old homesite?
I have yet to find a buffalo or V nickel this year so far. Hope I get those firsts soon.

Actually it was two sites, I got the two mercs and the '17 buff at a park(I think it's "unhit", and has an original log cabin in it). I got the others at an old private residence. There are two houses there, so far I have lightly searched one of them.

By the way, jer, I screamed like a girl(no offense gypsy) when I got the first buff.

Nicely done Goldfish. I'd have been screaming all the way home. I think you've gotta be doing something right to find the old nickels. My experience is limited having found only one Buff and one V, but to me and my Ace250 they sound a little better than iron but a little worse than a pull tab.

With those coins and only one house out of two lightly hunted, you've got me all anxious for your next hunt. Get out there and don't forget to post.
