FULL FACTORY WARRANTY by DetectorPro - manufacturer of Gray Ghost headphones....

FULL VOLUME CONTROL - absolutely NO ISSUES with sound - we provide simple instructions on how to set your CTX 3030 making your waterproof phones as loud (or as quiet) as desired.... With the wind blowing, waves crashing or in any EXTREME DETECTING conditions - you will still hear your signals loud and clear!!

RECESSED CONNECTOR - our factory made plug sits recessed so it does not stick out beyond the battery module pack. Unlike some aftermarket modifications (we've seen on the forums) our plug will not be the "high point" on the back of your CTX so the chances of breaking the plug or damaging your $2500 machine are greatly reduced!!!

HEAVIER GAUGE WIRE - our "pig-tail" wire is thicker, stronger and more durable than the standard Gray Ghost Underwater headphone wiring. We had our factory-built waterproof headphones made to last even in EXTREME DETECTING conditions!!

IP68 RATED CONNECTOR - our connectors are rated the maximum IP68. What does that mean? It means that our connectors are rated for protection against prolonged effects of immersion in water under pressure.

Do you have any plans of making the Grey Ghost Underwater headphones for the Garrett AT-Pro?
If you could, those headphones would also work on the Garrett Sea Hunter & Infinium.

Right now it seems like people with Garrett underwater machines are stuck with stock Garrett underwater headphones.

From what I have heard the Garrett machines have a special connector.
Do you or anyone else have a close-up of the connector and the receptical?
What is wrong with their phones? Are they as bad as the Koss waterproof that Minelab uses?

They are definitely not as good as the Grey Ghosts, nor as comfortable.
Here are pics of the headphone connector:

In regard to the headphones coming from D D which is who you are referencing...
This statement is not accurate:
"and to top it all off they are trying to pass off INFERIOR IP67 connectors as being "better" because they needed to shrink wrap them to try and make them waterproof."
also inaccurate:
"There are inferior products out there that are only rated IP67. That rating is for temporary exposure only. So they needed to "shrink wrap" their connector. Be careful and buy the better product"
This is not shrink wrapped it is called over molding and adds a strain relief on top of a manufactured sealed IP68 connector.

Will depthmatters chime in here now?

spdnj - you sound like you are associated with the other product - please post up your certified IP68 rating for your cable. thanks.
or better yet we can meet up and compare certifications and phones - let's meet up on July 8th when you claim your phones will be ready...
we'll meet in the middle - you drive 100 miles north and i'll drive 100 miles south.

the picture you show is a stock photo from one of hundreds of asian cable manufacturers.

the RAVE reviews for MY phones are coming in from another forum...I ask again - why would anyone wait until who know's when to pay $19 more for your phones????

MINE is 1,000% built and warranted by DetectorPro - are you saying my phones aren't good? The manufacturer said NO over-mold was even needed but we did it anyway and ate the cost...your phones are $175 PLUS shipping of $9 = $184 - why are you raping everyone at that price??? A person would have to be INSANE to buy your phones...

Barry you can stop the bs here. I tested one of the first models for them, thats it, so I know what is really going on here. They are not my phones, if I felt yours were better I would gladly buy them since I pay full price either way, no I did not get the test models free and I paid full price!! If anything people buying should want to hear from someone who does not have a financial interest in this, to hear what is really going on (which is not you). I just will not sit here while you post inaccurate statements... period And that is what your statements are above, or should I say were. You edited your post above just yesterday to take them out now, WHY??? I have the original post from you, want to see it. Not standing by what you wrote the first time? You have been banned from other forums for making fake accounts and starting these problems there. You have had posts removed from other forums as you post like you are buying headphones from yourself to market them in the forums where no selling is allowed, I have copies of it all. Im tired of you starting with me and posting misleading statements while you sit and play games like that. Hooray you have your headphones now. You know the bottom line is that you have been chasing the other adapter to keep up with what they are doing. Now you are adding your shrink wrap tubing to try to make it look like their over molding. Why are you adding it if it is not needed, to keep up with the competition!!!! And you know it!. You know but will not admit they have a better product at this point coming out in another week and you are scrambling so you do not get stuck with your investment, thats the real answer. I would wait and pay $19 more for a better product (IMHO), you asked and thats why. Your marketing is we have them now and we are $19 cheaper, not that they are better. You know why you have stuck to that marketing scheme and if you keep coming at me like that then I will keep posting the truth so people can choose to buy what ever they want but at least they will have accurate information from someone who has no financial interest in the subject. If you would stop attacking the product with misleading information and just sell your product, stop making fake accounts on forums to sell your stuff, and just happily sell your product I would not even waste my time with you, but you have posted inaccurate information on the competition and you know it. NOTHING I have posted has been misleading, we can not say they same for you.
Just sell your product, market it away, but stop misleading people like above and no one will bother you like this. I never said your phones are no good, I am sure they work fine, in my opinion I think the others are more durable and will last longer (MY OPINION). The only time I post is when your information is inaccurate or you attack me, I don't post to market, I don't post to sell, I don't post just to start with you, I post to give accurate information and an unbiased opinion.
And for the record, are people insane to buy a ML detector over a BH? No its a better detector at a more expensive price, so to answer your last question no a person would not be insane to buy the others! And last it is not my adapter, stop saying that and asking me to post an IP68 rating. I will again state I have no vested interest in any of this except to post accurate information, all I do know is both of your adapters are IP68 rated, you keep trying to elude that theirs is not, again inaccurate! Stick to the facts and may the best adapter sell more, there is no need for this bs

Let's just agree that Gary Storm the owner of Detector Pro 100% manufactured the phones and 100% stands behind them.
He would not have given his lifetime warranty on something that he didn't approve 100%. So they will last...well a lifetime...
Both phones are made by him.
There is one reason only that the over mold was added - one of the guys with big fingers inadvertantly loosened the compression nut. That is posted on another forum. Now that won't happen - the IP68 rating does not need the molding.

Over 100 pieces are already out there...stuck with an investment? Funny. The total market is probably 250-300 units..it will be basically over and done soon after DeMarco ships his first piece - whenever that happens. The guys who got the units NOW are RAVING about them...NOW.

So people are free to get what they want. Having a choice is a good thing. Take care. See you at Strathmere the next big storm...I'll be camping out on Seaview Drive. I'll bring my crew of detecting buddies.

Ok, so I am totally confused now. Does anyone suggest using the Gray Ghost Underwater for Minelab CTX 3030? I just bought my CTX 3030 and wanted to know if this was a recommended accessory.

Thanks!

Botics, The Gray Ghost Underwater headphones are a great accessory. I used mine a month ago in Myrtle Beach - nice tight fit, blocks out most ambient noise and is completely waterproof. The Koss underwater headphones work fine, it's just that the Gray Ghosts are a higher end product with a lifetime warranty from DetectorPro.

Metal Detecting Stuff: Gray Ghost Underwater - CTX3030

Thank you very much. I got lost with the above dialog and I am new to the forum...

Do they plug into the wireless module or into the CTX 3030 (I have not even opened it yet... I will tonight)

They plug into the CTX, you remove the module to use them.

Got it. Thank you.

You are welcome. If you have any questions, call me at (832) 928-9135.

Wayne
