Found this at a yard sale with some old tools. I grabbed it up for a few bucks because I really liked the look of it but I'm not sure what it is. After some research I have an idea but I want to see what you guys think before I put anything in your heads. Thanks for the help!

Is it possibly some type of an early version of a router? Just guessing... "D"

Looks like a home made tool used in ice harvesting, for pulling blocks of ice along a chute.

I think it is too light weight for gaffing a fish out of the water. However that got me thinking, could it be a fishmonger's tool for the market? You know, for reaching out a little further to pull a fish to you?

Seems light for lumber.

I agree, I think the item is too light and possibly a little to fragile for lumber. Thanks for the responses!

.. a precursor to Preparation H :occasion18:

It looks similar to a powder hole cleaner/tamper for hard rock mining.

Asparagus knife for harvesting. Definitely for harvesting something. Looks too fragile/thin to be a war club. Unless it's for a child.

You may find that it was the best garage sale investment you've
ever made.

What you have there is an Iroquois war club:

Native American Weapons: Bows and Arrows, Spears, Tomahawks, War Clubs, and Other American Indian Weaponry

Might be wise to find a qualified person to authenticate it,
and also get a possible age of the club as values can run
well over $500.

I paid $5.00 for it. I would like to believe that it is an old Iroquois war club however, I think the wood is too thin to use as club. I think I found a picture of what it is and that is a Japanese fishmongers tool for pulling first from one table to the next to clean the fish.. Loving the ideas. Keep them coming!

Very cool looking, the flat base is odd. I am going with an artificial limb
