Detector(s) used
Troy X5, Whites DFX
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I can only comment on the Tejon. I use a variety of detectors but the Tejon is my favorite for these reasons:
1) Lightweight
2) Hot on brass items
3) Easy to ground balance
4) Dual discrimination
5) Long battery life
6) Excellent depth
7) Lifetime warranty

If you relic hunt as I do, then you will not be disappointed with this detector. It takes some time to distinguish deep iron from a conductive target but you will learn it quickly. The 5.75 coil on this machine makes it a killer in trashy areas without sacrificing depth. Just my opinion and I'm sure others will chime in. HH!

Thanks Mike.
How long have you been using your tejon?
A friend told me a rumor that the Tejon was hot for a while and now relic hunters are going away from it. I haven't heard that from anyone else yet.

I've had mine for about a year. It is just a fun machine to use. The Nautilus is my 2nd favorite detector and my first choice for the really deep stuff. No matter which machine you get, spend time with it and learn what it is telling you. HH!

Does the Nauti really find stuff deeper than any other relic hunting machine, or is it more a function of the operator's skill?

My understanding is it's used more for highly mineralized soil .

when using a troy
you have the option to use the penny/nickel toggle (high/low conductive target)

What is the advage of this option? cherry picking ???

ive read a lot of the relic hunters hitting the f-75 and t-2, over the tesoros and mxt's, i thought the nautys didnt like the minerals
