My first ever gold coin - 2 1/2 dollar, 1847 O !

Been on cloud nine all day. Also got 3 silver dimes, a copper ID bracelet engraved and a maker's mark of GOLDEN KEY with a skeleton key symbol, wheaties, and some other stuff. Haven't taken a group picture yet cause I'm still reeling!

The coin looks a bit dinged up....you should probably throw it back and look for an uncirculated one, but tell me where you throw it, lol. Congrats to you! I would have a hard time deciding whether to leave right then so I could clean it and post pics or continue on digging to see what else I might find. What did you do?

Still like to know why this gorgeous coin still hasn't made banner. Every gold coin usually makes it to the top. The last one that did was bent and had a hole so why isn't this one up there? The post has 2500 views and almost 100 replies, with many of them mentioning banner. So what's the deal??

Banner finds have to look good on the banner, just any old picture want get a find on banner no matter how many votes it got if the pictures are poor.

It is the same thing we do for all banner finds. We want the best pictures possible.
