I'm new to gold prospecting, and I'm looking to purchase a metal detector to find pickers and sub-gram bits of gold. I've been considering the X-Terra 705 Gold Pack for this purpose, but unsure if I would be better served going with a dedicated gold-detecting machine instead.

Any advice or tips would be helpful. Thanks!

I had an XTerra 70 Gold Pack for a long time. It works wonders for small gold. That is what it was designed to do with the DD 10x5 18.75khz Coil. To get deep gold, you need to get a dedicated gold machine.

Did all that research myself a while back, and chose the
Gold Bug Pro over the rest of the contenders. It's a
top notch picker-finder, and as good or better on
small gold than just about anything out there.

JMHO, of course..:occasion14:

The 705 is a fine gold detector. Get out there and swing it and you will find gold with it.
