Found this badge this morning, a possible volunteer badge from WWII having to do with the red cross or medical service. Initials KP separated by a cross. Two silver coins, 1875 and 1869. A small decorative piece maybe from a ring. Obverse.

Reverse of the badge and coins. My finds from yesterday were laying on the sink, my mother was looking at them. She decided to help me out and cleaned two 1800s finger rings, a thimble, two coins from the late 1800s, a lead seal and the small piece shown in the picture. She used a manicure machine, like a dremel tool to clean the finds, LOL. It did clear something up, the rings and thimbles I find are mostly brass. HH, Mike

The Red Cross badge has been IDed, dates to pre WWI, up to around 1916. The number is probably the name of the nurse that wore it. I will try to get in touch with the Red Cross and get the name sometime. Still not sure what the initials KP mean. HH, Mike

Re: WWII Red Cross badge? Silver coins...

I've seen one of the silver Japanese "Red Cross" badges......nothing similiar. Hope you get some help on
the letters.....that should identify it. Great finds. By the way, where are you in Germany? I was stationed
in Baumholder in the mid 60s. (that will give away my age, won't it?) Anywhere close to there? Several castles close
to there, and one very nice smaller city, IdarOberstein. Loved that place, and spent most of my free time there.
Good luck hunting.

HI Mike thanks for sharing Nice silver

Nice finds, Mike. Hope you can ID the badge and unite it with some family. Doubt she is still alive. Good luck on the research. Can't wait to see what you find.

The letter "K" could stand for 'Kreuz', 'cross' in German.
The lettering around the bottom pin spells out German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz)
KP may be a country designation, like DRK for German Red Cross and ORK for Austrian Red Cross.
