I noticed somebody mowed a bunch of grass at an old farm I’ve hit before. This area has several neat rows of trees, it must have been a picnic area or something. The finds just kept coming!
I dug this little scarab, maybe a zipper pull or part of some jewelry.
Found a couple old bells, this one is the largest I’ve ever dig.
Happily dug a few silver coins, including this 1909 dime.
This silver pin sounded terrible, it was surrounded by nasty iron.
Thought I had a gold ring, unfortunately it’s gold filled.
A pile of “junk” I’ll go through later.
I really like the Lexington Motor Car tag, never heard of that maker before. Scored a newer silver quarter, a broken 1902 fish scale, and the ugliest Merc I’ve ever seen haha. The two Indian Head cents were a spill together the same hole.
Didn’t think much of this “Billy Possum” button until I got home and looked it up. It’s a presidential button in support of President William Howard Taft from 1912!
The pin is my fav find of the day. It’s marked sterling and still has the pin attached! Looks to be a WWI U.S. Marine pin.
Can’t wait to get back there and go over it all again. It’s nice to have a new spot to pound.
