I'm not a big beach hunter ( I don't get much of a thrill hunting for just dropped rings) but I made an exception when I stumbled upon a little pocket of WW1 relics on the beach in Charleston SC. I first started finding .45 casings marked 1917 and 1918 and then got a real surprise- a ww1 soldier's ID disc!! It says Jesse C. T----- COO USNG ( national guard) and on the back says CO 10. In doing some research I found that this was the 10th company of coastal artillery, stationed at a fort nearby this beach from 1917-1918. I also got some casings from the model 1903 Springfield, mostly Frankford arsenal but one Remington- dating from 1907-1918. I even got a small great seal hat button and what I guess is a pants snap button. It was a fun way to keep me occupied on the beach and I got to uncover some history as well.
