I found this late last year in a park in the softest, most neutral ground I have ever dug in. This ring was at an honest 10-12 inches and hit like it was laying on top of the ground. LOUD! I thought it was a beautiful ring by design and spent some time trying to figure out what the symbols meant with no luck. The ring was retired to my box of rings. Recently my hunting buddy, forum member, veteran detectorist, and expert in the field of avionics ggossage was looking through a few of my finds. He instantly recognized the symbol on the front as Army Air Corps. His help turned a nice ring into something much more meaningful and educational. Just thought I would share. Thanks, JJ

Interesting debate...Navy or AAC or...? If you look at the eagle on the side of the ring, there appears to be a shield in front of the eagle. I'm still searching, but I haven't been able to find a "crow" with a shield, which makes me lean heavily toward AAC.

Great USAAF cadet ring :headbang: Congrats

Dear Sir:

Will you sell my dad - who lost an exact replica- this ring? He earned his in 1942 and wore it every day until someone took it. People were looking at our house which is for sale and that was the one time he forgot it. If so, please give me a price. It would make an old fighter pilot very happy.

Sincerely,
Major Don Rohar, USAF retired

got the same one but its blank

I have the same style ring that I am willing to sell to a WWII Air Corps Veteran or family member. I purchased the ring years ago at an antique store. It looks identical to the ring pictured above.

You have to love that.... :icon_thumleft:
