I spent the last 3 weeks looking for an E-Trac for a friend.. Most are listed at $700-800 mostly on the higher end. But time was on our side
we did manage to find one for $600.00 . If you are buying one and have the ability to see it in person, bring someone familiar with the operation of the detector. Also bring an
extra set of batteries because they never seem to be charged, so trying out the machine is difficult. Good Luck JIm

Thanks.

There's one for $650 on craigslist now in Torrington, CT. I see it on craigslist Hudson Valley NY search, you can probably find it on a CT craigslist search.

The E-Trac is a great machine. Just need to make sure the battery is good, if it runs low fairly quick, then it’s better just to replace it with a new battery pack. You always get the folks online selling them saying great condition, and they usually are, but the batteries don’t last forever, and eventually won’t hold a charge. Also if you’re not familiar with the settings, the multi tones, and the other bells, and whistles I’d have someone familiar go. Also check the shaft for wear, as well as the lower portion of coil. Sometimes folks don’t put the coil cover back on, or don’t have one on it at all, and there may be a hairline crack in it from bumping it against a hard surface. Also have them give you the serial number so you can check date of manufacture, you don’t want to buy a 15 year old detector for nearly the price of a new one.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

IMHO: purchase the RnB Innovation battery pack for the E-trac, you will not be sorry! :icon_thumleft: I use the batteries on my Garrett, White's and Minelab machines. :hello2:

I can second RnB. I bought for my Etrac, and was a huge difference in the life span compared to original.
