Well I went back looking for the cache again. Did get one coin type signal at the base of a tree so I dug.

and dug.

Darn it--empty.

So I went over to the original homestead site and saw the barn 1st. Figured I'd check it out. I go into one of the stalls and get another coin type signals in the middle. So I dug and see something round.

a bit more clearing of the hole.

and out pops an Army Cap Device.

But it's thicker and heavier than others I've found. It almost makes me think it's cast from lead.

This place is a bit hard to hunt though.

Very cool! I am glad you are being persistent there....that is definitely a great site!

I agree with Gypsy and Plebah too because it is heavy, at least heavier than any cap devices I have held before.

Thanks everyone. Got it cleaned up a bit..the top pin broke off while cleaning though. :(

It's about twice as thick as a quarter and is heavy as a silver dollar.

There's also enough rusty and enameled pots and pans to keep a wayfaring gypsy busy.

That is a nice eagle and great pics, what a fun spot to hunt I could loose myself out there for weeks.

That's so awesome, Stoney. Looks like my kind of place to dig too.

 RR

Kewl find, Stoney!

Well, ya know....you found some cash finds there.

All you have to do is haul all that rusty stuff to the local scrap metal dealer. Might make the property owner happy, and get you a little gas money!
