Well almost. I went over to the soccer field complex last night. Usually don't go on a week night...soccer mom haven for practices. But being a Friday night, there were only 8 teams practicing and I had the north side of the complex all to myself. Only had an hour before sunset to hunt. I found only $1.97 in clad including, a 5 penny coin spill. However, as I was headed back to the car, I was swinging and got a VDI of 69. Wasn't going to dig, figuring it was a penny, but it was only a half inch down. So, putting my Bullseye II pinpointer to the ground, got the location of the coin and popped it out with my lesche. It had a gold color, heavy, and about the size of a half dollar...maybe a token or soccer tournament medal? It was too dark to tell what it was until I got it home and washed it off. Turns out it was a 1989 peso coin with a face value of $1000 Now I knew it wasn't worth much since I had seen a post by Frodov about a month before with the same find. Turns out, these coins were circulated prior to 1992, and are no longer accepted for exchange since Mexico devalued the peso at that time . But they do make a nice souvenir. :P Oh well, it still looks nice in my collection . I think these soccer fields are becoming international...I've found Canadian coins, Japanese yen, Euro, and now Mexican coins.
Thanks for looking.
