Don't have a tester yet, they are hard as heck, kinda figured they'd be soft if it were lead.....right?? Any at home options? Thought about trying to melt a lil of it and see what happens.

Scrape it and check the luster. It looks like it could be droppings from brazing.
It could be a nickle alloy or babbit like AU seeker said.
Silver will generally come out of the ground clean.
Sometimes tarnished, but not a corroded surface.

They all hit on the non-ferrous metals, if that helps.

If it is from where the house used to be it might be melted metal that was in the house.

I'm getting ready to get melting temps. Go out to the swingerhouse "garage" and fire em up with a torch "safely" and see what happens.

The most common metal found in these melted blobs is by far aluminum. But it could be lead based, pot metal, solder, babbit or any combination of lead or zinc based alloys. It may even contain nickel.

Hello bigfoot. A "lead pen" and a "nickle test" sounds interesting. I couldnt find anything on the net. Could you elaborate? Thanks.
