Went to a local park today and I struck silver!!! The third thing I dug was a 1917 Standing Liberty Half!!! I about fell over when I saw that big piece of silver sticking out of my plug!!!! I LOVE MY TESORO DELEON!!!!!!!!! I have not checked the mint mark yet but I guess there are a lot of mistakes that year and it could possibly be worth thousands!!! That would be a plus. Just got my digital camera today so pics of finds will be coming soon!!!

Wow, way to go!

There's nothing like that thrill of finding a big coin too.
I once found a Danish Kroner, worth about 20 cents, but
it was gold-colored, and for a few seconds there I thought it
was a Krugerand - oh the (cheap) thrill!

Congrats on the big silver. I have not found a Walking Liberty Half in a while and I've never found a Standing Liberty Quarter.

Congrats.
