My Ace 250 finally got here. Got out this afternoon for about an hour to try to learn this hobby.
What luck! I found this ring. What a beaut, eh! And this indian peace pipe. At least I'm sure that's what it is.
Oh, and 40 cents in clad.
Lafitte, welcome to TreasureNet. We're very happy to have you with us.
Metal detecting is one facet of the very enjoyable and sometimes profitable hobby of treasure hunting. You have done very well for your first attempt with a MD. (My first attempt yielded a bent round nail and a piece of a gum wrapper.) Be prepared for disappointments, fantasy finds, and everything in between. Please post often and keep those pictures coming - we love to look at treasures!!!
As far as I know, all peace pipes are made of a special kind of stone. Only found in one place - Pipestone, MN. If it is a hard red/pink stone, you probably have a pipe of some kind. If not, we need to see more detailed pictures.
Just to clarify, the pipe I found is modern and wrapped in red elec. tape. Was supposed to be a joke. Should have posted a larger pic. You'd probably feel peaceful after smoking out of it.
Welcome to the wonderfull hobby of metal detecting! That's not the first pot pipe I've seen posted here, just don't get pulled over and have it sitting on your car seat...
Welcome to Tnet. I agree get back out there and dig,dig and then dig some more. We want to see you meet or beat 113 coins in one day. Best I have ever done is 8.
Enjoy the ACE
