Wow!!!! First gold coin x2

I have to say this is the best day detecting yet. Went to a new spot and got in to an old house site was finding just random brass 1918 mercury couple wheaties. And then it happened my son diggerkid jumps up all excited saying he found a gold coin so I go check it out and sure enough gold coin, now it's getting serious. His looks like it was in a fire no detail but it's still gold.
Now we start hunkering down in this spot and I get a solid 70s on the dues I dig down about 6inches and out pops gold. I think to myself no way but staring back at me is an 1861 2 1/2 dollar in beautiful condition.
We hunted around more after but didn't find much else.
What is the best way to clean it, so far I've just ran water over it.
