My front yard continues to produce little treasures making me a very happy camper.
I spent about an hour just messing around in the front yard where just a few days ago I found my first Civil War button. Today I found two modern pennies and one wheat penny, due to damage I can't get a date on the wheat penny...
I also found what I'm guessing may be the ring of an old radiator cap possibly a model A or similar vehicle.
But this was my best find today, it's some type of badge from a 1907 Expo in Jamestown, VA. The top says Nofolk, and the sash says Jamestown with the 1907 date at the bottom. On the back it says something I can't quite make out and Milwaukee.
May not be a pot of gold but it makes me happy. I just love the history behind the things I discover. Our house was built in 1910, but a 1907 badge and a civil war button shows there was a lot going on here before our little house came to be. The town I live in was the first English settlement in Pitt County, NC....
