Hey everyone,

I don't know what to say right now but wow. It's been a great week of hunting. I've been hitting it hard the past 6 straight days. It all started about a week ago. I was reading up on some local history right. I seen that there was a old cabin that used to sit in this one park. I have never been to this park before.

But I said hey what the heck lets go look for it. Me and my boy set out that saturday to see what we could come up with. Well I didn't find the cabin site yet. So I decided to just venture around the park some. I picked up a few old coins that day. I made a mental note to come back the following week.

On the way out of the place though I spotted a area with a ton of briars. No big deal right. Not the case though. Briars are a good sign of a old home site. I don't know why but it's one thing I look for when finding old homesteads. I said to my son next week we will check that briar area out.

Well my hunch was right. There was a small homestead nestled in there. Bad thing was it had been hunted before. But hey that never deters me from hunting. So off we went. It held some promise as I was able to score a few silver rings relics and low and behold my first spanish silver and it's a 8 reale.

I had no idea what it was out in the field. It was totally coated with dirt. I put it in the pouch and passed it off as a large token. Well when I got home and started to clean it I realized i had a big silver coin. It was about 12 inches deep under a sandstone rock. As hits seemed to dry up at the home site I decided to walk back deeper into the woods were I had found a few coins the first day I was there.

Well to make a long story longer. The site was just loaded with coins. I don't know what was down in these woods. My maps show nothing was here in 1876. So I started to look around and though to myself this must have been a old swimming or fishing hole. It's a bluff right above a nice creek.

I was able to pull my first seated quarter a very nice 1877. I was in heaven this week guys. I actually made a few finds that made my hands shake a little. Don't happen to me very often. I pulled out coin after coin after coin. Just to much to try and list right now. Got a 1894 S barber quarter.

A key date 1921 merc. Got a 3 cent silver love token. Tons of wheat cents with a few key dates. Got 7 indian heads. Got a bunch of old nickles. Got a toasted 1817 or 1827 matron head. This site was used. Best part was it has never been touched by a unit. I got more hunting to do at this site. Got a really nice sterling thimble.

I'd much rather answer any questions you all might have. Then try and sit here and describe every item. What can I say. I even amaze myself. I am very fortunate to have so much history around me. I am very humble for the sucess I have had over the yrs. This has taken me alot of work to post and clean all of these things to share with you all.

I want to thank you all for the nice comments and looking at my finds. I know this is a little over the top but you know what. If you work hard enough at anything your gonna excel. I work very hard at this hobby. It's something I truly love to do. It's not about money for me. It's the discovery and the going back in time for a moment that keeps me going.

Thanks again guys,

HH Jer

8 Reales and Seateds what more can you ask!?? AWESOME!! :icon_thumleft:

I think that pretty much sums it up. Congrats!

Thanks alot everyone.

All I can do right now is speculate what was at this place. It wasn't a home that's for sure. Because I already found one homesite not far from this site. Same woods just further down the creek. The park isn't really old. Built in the mid 1930's.

There are old pop bottle ketchup bottles etc strew around. No trace of a home. Great level land though for one. There is however a pipe line that runs behind the site. Either gas oil or water. Not sure but that's another good sign your near a home or structure.

Those briars seems to come up often in front of old home steads. They seem to come up in the areas where the lawns would have been. I often look for them in the woods. Amongst other things like dirt rds flowers a well etc.

What more could I ask for. Well maybe a gold coin or a bust silver would really top it off. I can always dream big right. I'm gonna fall over the day a gold coin comes up.

Yes, If it was up to me I would do it full time. The wife doesn't seem to think so. But hey I work nights my kids are in school. So what the heck. After I get my work done around the house I'm out swinging. Then I go to work tiered. That's how much I like to hunt.

I'll be back at it this weekend. Hopefully there is a nice gold ring or something hidding in there. I've been hitting it really fast. Gonna slow down and overlap my swings. I'll be back with more.

Thanks Jeremy

Wow. What an outstanding hunt! :hello2:

I see three quarters - a standing Liberty, A barber, and a seated all in one hunt! :o :o :notworthy:

You have an amazing group of finds!

Jer,

Wow, you hit into a great site there. I love your pics as always, and you clean everything up so nicely. It shows that you are really dedicated to the hobby and the history. That DFX is really working for you. I don't think there is any better machine, because that's the one you are best at using. You really have a nose for finding good spots. Definitely a mark of experience.

Glad to see you're still on here doing what you love to do. That is an amazing haul you dug there. Congrats on that Reale and the silvers. Heck, the Injuns are nice too.

Thanks alot guys.

You know I never thought about that. I hit a quarter trifecta. Man that is hard to do. This was a great place to hunt. The type of site that you just knew when you got a signal it was silver or something good.

Nice hunting a site that hasn't been pounded by others before. There are still a bunch of overlooked nooks out there. I have came across these type of places more than a handful of times. Just takes alot of perserverance.

I don't quit. I keep swinging until my unit tells me there is something there.

Thanks RI. I spent alot of time this week cleaning items. Taking pics sizing them all down. Took me alot of hrs this week. But I wanted to share these great items with you all. What good are they just sitting in a closet for no one to see.

Yes, I am very good with whites units. The first unit I ever used was in the early 90's. It was a whites eagle spectrum. A good unit at that time. I fell in love with this hobby from day one. I have always had a knack for finding treasure. It just seems like I just keep getting better and better. Just when I think I have done it all something else turns up or a new site is discovered.

I don't know what to say but I am very humble and glad that all my hrs of sitting on the computer are taking me to some great areas. History really is spot on. If you can understand it and match it up. Gets very hard at times. But I always know there is something out there to find.

Thanks again

Thanks alot guys

Try this program. Use the eeprom high pro program. Note it's a very difficult program to run if you are new to this unit. But stick with it. Make these changes vol 63 threshold at 5. tone at 200 ac at 85 pre amp at 4 accept -40 through plus 95. Sweep speed of 11 7 3 or 1. Important recovery speed at 28. Also turn the icons off. Dig every signal from plus 10 and up.

You can turn modulation off or on. I like it off most of the time. It will help deeper items chirp in a little better. Tone id on best data on. Double ground balance after making changes. If the unit is unstable try kicking down the gain to 3. Or take the ac down 5 numbers at a time. If all else fails run the program the way it is. Everyone's soil is different so it's hard for me to say if you will be stable with these settings. It holds for me. I use the 1400 DD coil and get coins at 12 inches all the time.

Not dimes but large cents tokens etc. You'll get dimes at 9 inches. From time to time if you have the unit on in the house when you go out to hunt pull the battery out of the back of the unit while it is on. It resets the processor in the unit. Perfectly safe for it. Also if you don't already know check this site out. You can learn alot here about the dfx at www.dfxonly.com.

I hope this helps you or someone else out there. I've made my mark already and I really do like to try and help others. I like to think that I am very skilled and knowledged on this unit. Yrs ago I knew a few engineers for whites. They shared secrets with me when this unit first came out. I've done great ever since.

But I am also spending alot of time looking over maps and reading history on different areas in my co. I'm putting myself in places where treasure would be. And I am coming out ontop.

I did go a little crazy this week. But man when you come across a great site you literally lose sleep wondering what else may come up. Beleive me my wife has been on me and working me to death for it all.

I got real lucky this late in the yr. I took a 3 month lay off for my boys baseball season. I may have found 200 silvers this yr. But I am closing in fast on a 100 pieces. That's about what I have been averaging over the yrs. Getting up close to 50 indians on the yr also. Looks like it's gonna be a great fall this yr. Trying to get out as much as I can. Looks like were headed for a bad winter.

you said it .................... WOW .................... :headbang:

You got yourself a dreamspot.............keep searching .............if you need help ..call me :laughing7:

Jeremy, You've had a great time of hunting!! Congrats!! No more info on the site.....you can bet your bottom dollar
that there are some who are dissecting every word you have put out, and are trying to look at old messages, trying to
determine where you live, and trying to pinpoint the park, and then THEY will walk it, trying to put together your
puzzle, so they can put coins in their pockets.
No more info about any aspect of the locale of the site. BUT keep posting your finds.......3 old old quarters, one site!!!
Unbelieveable.

Thanks alot guys.

I am sworn not to tell where I am hunting. Been through that before. Used to attend a club yrs ago. When I started out hunting guys every single month they got super jealous. They started bashing me telling me my finds weren't authentic. It was there way of wanting to know where I was hunting.

The times I did tell people 20 guys would be hunting my spot while I wasn't there. I'm not putting hard work in to give everyone a place to hunt. I hunt alone now and only share sites with family members.

They will never come across this site. Been sitting there for a 100 yrs looked over by everyone. We have so many parks here in the NE. They would have to go through hundreds of them.

Beleive me when I say I watch what I say. I don't actually give to much info. Why do you think I don't include pictures of the site. I would love to but all I need to do is give away a spot. I'll let you guys see the dirty items when they get to my counter. And yes I do dig every signal even the foil. I hit a nice 9 or 10 kt pin the last time I was down there digging foil hits.

It was a super week of hunting. Probably spent 20 hrs in the field last week. Gonna go put some more hrs in today. Hopefully it's not tapped out yet.
