Just wondering,

There is a Chase bank near my work I have been thinking about checking out. If I am lucky it will give me another pickup bank. They require you to have a 100 dollars in the checking account, but I was thinking about going in there and asking for halves rolls. Only bad thing is that there is a LCS in the same building. One entrance is the banks, the other is a LCS. So I was wondering and thought I would ask all the more experienced CRHers. Would you go CRHing at this bank? Is it worth my time and shooting in and checking it out? Or is it a waste of time?

All they can do is say no. I have gone to a couple of Chase Banks, one kept giving me any thing I wanted dimes and nickels CWR and the other told me I needed an account but gave me coins three times until I didn't want to go back after being told to get the account but they probably would still give them to me. I asked for halves each time but they never did have any on hand, I didn't ask them to order any for me. It all depends on who is working, the first chase I was dealing with the Vault Teller and the second bank were just Tellers. I think they were 500-1,000 for an account, 100 would be a deal. I did OK at the one bank for a while then it seemed to taper off and I just quit using them.

I would if there were more chases in your area that you could use for either dumps or pick ups just in case this branch doesn't play out. Most of it is just about luck anyhow. Like being the first person to ask for halves after the little old lady just dumped her 60+ year old collection off. That is just luck. See, I don't have much luck in this hobby so I have to create my own by doing volume.

Sure it's worth the time. There's a place like that in Lansing, with a door for BOA, door for LCS. I've bought boxes and coins at the same time. Was nice because at the time silver was crazy, and LCS had a armed guard escort you to your car after purchases.

Give it a shot. The first time in just act like you have an account, they may not even ask. If they do, go to plan B, open an account if they have rolls of halfs.

The other thing to do is ask if they have a savings account or Christmas Club account; better chance for no fees for those.
