Would appreciate help with ID'ing this item from beach hunt this morning.

Hi again:hello:,

Did a couple of hours late morning at high tide upper slope damp/ dry sand and a bit of dirt detecting on way back to the car. ( I swing that coil right up to the car trunk! :laughing7:

I have no idea as to the identification of the item that I recovered from the dirt hunt...?buckle part/ ? hat pin / ? tie attachment /

Any assistance in ID'ing it is welcomed.

Also, any suggestions on restoring this item ? Not sure of the metal..? brass
Also managed a nice 1943 quarter from upper slope dry sand.

Here's some pics

Thanks for looking

Lorraine

Pretty cool find. I like the unusual stuff. My guess would be a kerchief holder, like the boy scouts. Could be a foriegn boy scout's version. Either way it's pretty neat.

looks like a scout neckerchief slide to me?

That looks a lot like a shoe button cover. I'm not that familiar with them, but others have recently posted them on tnet.
