Woods hunt, first indian head

I wanted to hunt, but not a lot of time. In the woods next to me there are some pits where they dug sandstone. When the kids were small they played in them. I decided to go look on the old road next to them in the woods. It is almost gone and hard to follow. It was funny to hunt with no trash. Silent. I got a penny hit and lo and behold, an 1887 indian head penny. Very close another penny hit and a nice wheat 1911. Only one other hit a half horseshoe. I was thrilled. Sorry no pictures. Don't know how to post them

JerseyGirl , Now you're in a promising area - recently I saw your post concerning trying to find good areas to hunt - I think this sounds
like a good one . There should be some silver dimes in there too .
