I wanted to hunt, but not a lot of time. In the woods next to me there are some pits where they dug sandstone. When the kids were small they played in them. I decided to go look on the old road next to them in the woods. It is almost gone and hard to follow. It was funny to hunt with no trash. Silent. I got a penny hit and lo and behold, an 1887 indian head penny. Very close another penny hit and a nice wheat 1911. Only one other hit a half horseshoe. I was thrilled. Sorry no pictures. Don't know how to post them

Congrats on you indian head milestone

Sweet finds. When you started this thread or any other go to the advanced settings then you can add a photo, it least from a mobile device don't know about the .com version hope this helps

We can only award 5 out of 10 points without the pics.... ha ha. Just pickin at ya. When those ole "18's" pop out of the ground it is an awesome feeling. Great finds. :icon_thumleft:

Cool find! My only IH came from the woods. Nice save!!!

How cool. Can't wait to see the picture. Mine have all been quite toasted.

Hi, Old Jersey Girl. If you have pictures of your coin already loaded onto your computer, it is quite simple to add them to your post. I made these instructions months ago, but they should still be relevant. Peace. How to upload pictures to Treasure Net.

I just GOTTA ask, why would you create an account and make your very first post one that makes sure someone else can find how to post pics on here? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

AND...the link you put up doesn't even go to Treasurenet?

LOL

That why I enjoy the woods because its quit with out all the junk and i dig everything.

Congrats! Firsts are always nice to hear about! Don't fret the pic, I remember what one looks like. ;)

WTG!

Come on Girl, post those pictures!
If I can figure out how to do it, anyone can. :tongue3:
Congrats on your first IH. One of the best looking coin designs in my book.

Nice! That was certainly worth it! If you find out how to post pics let me know, I'm E-challenge ! Lol!

I am afraid us oldies are not real computer savvy. At least most of the ones I know. I have a young girl coming to visit on Sat. and she is a wiz with them. I will get her to show me. I am O.K. if I can do it a couple of times. I do know how to put photos on facebook. Do not have a cell phone, so has to be from my album on the computer.
Anyway. Like was said you all know what one looks like.

OJG, it really is easy, to madify your original post, at the bottom of your post you'll see "EDIT POST" click on that, when that loads scroll down past where you wrote the story, and you'll see "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS" click on that, a box will pop up that lets you select the pic from you files, after that click the "UPLOAD" box, then "SAVE CHANGES"

your done.

Way to go girl, congrats, I still have not dug up a Indian Head, must be because I'm stuck in Millville, ha (howdy neighbor!) Sounds like you need to get back there and hit that area again, If you could figure out how to personal message the pic to me I would put it up for you.

You have good instincts. Hope you can get time to hunt it a little harder.

I want to go out again. The woods are just full of old holes. However there are deer hunters in stands out there and I don't want to ruin their hunt for them. Is is bow season here now, but soon shotgun, and on and on. I don't know when I will be able to go in again.

Deer season here too. I bought some hunter's orange to wear and hunt where no hunters' vehicles are present. I always respect their rights as well. It will be safe in the ground for you.

Congrats on the IH!. In one of my favorite patches of woods three weeks ago, I dug up three Indian Heads from under the same rock! I think one 1863, and two 1864 (one copper, one bronze) Hope you get to hunt those woods again soon!
