I posted this in the Bottle forum and it was suggested I try it here also. I purchased this at a junk store in 1967, and know nothing about it other than I've never seen another one. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Any of the contents or odor inside or is it solid?

Captain Al,
again interesting.
Is it all wood? Any part of the shape
show wear?
Is it hollow?

Thanks for posting.

Again, interesting.
Pehaps call it a bottle shape and not a bottle.

have a good un.......

I am still fascinated with the bottle or bottle shaped item. Will be interested to find out more about it. And by the way...welcome to Treasurenet! ;D

Sent an inquiry to the seller as follows: What information can you provide regarding this wooden bottle? Age, made by, type of wood, country of origin, provenance, and the like.

Might get some helpful information.

Included a picture of the bottom of the bottle from the Ebay site...interesting construction...

Here's the answer to my inquiry:

Found in an antique shop in NC. I've shown it around and no one knows anything about it. No markings to go by and I'm not a wood expert so I can't help there either. It is very old. Thanks for your interest.

Seems to be exactly like mine. except mine has a metal ring around the bottom holding felt that covers the cork bottom. I really appreciate the help, and still hope that someone will know more.
