Hello.
I'm intrigued about this thing, and maybe someone know more about how people used it, and even when, than me.
It's from a family members woodshop, where time just stopped in 1910. The woodshop was build maybe around 1870. Some items was old when they build it even still, though.

A google Lens search did not provide much, except a hit from a digital museum based in my country. It said it was a tool to mark where to cut (how? nowhere to attach pencil or lead). Their example was hand made, as mine looks to be as well. They had no instructions or age, but they called a "Strekmott". If anyone could provide me with any info. I would appreciate it deeply.

Best regards, Mr.Glum
